Kinect Star Wars Xbox 360 Bundle

During one of Microsoft’s panels today at San Diego Comic-Con, they began talking a little more in-depth about one of their more… questionable upcoming Kinect titles, Kinect Star Wars. Shown originally back at E3 2010, and then in greater detail at this years E3, fans have been a little undecided how the game will fare, as it seems to be more of a “Kinect Sports with lightsabers.” Not deterred, Microsoft has come today declaring both results to change fans minds, and some heavy incentives.

Partnering up with LucasArts, Microsoft will be releasing their first-ever custom-designed Xbox 360, crafted after the iconic droids themselves: C-3PO and R2-D2. These two metallic celebrities from the movies, books, toys, and games, will be forever immortalized as an Xbox 360 (R2-D2) and controller (C-3PO), and will be bundled with a white Kinect along with a copy of Kinect Star Wars.

The console itself will not only come with a custom paint job, but also sounds — much like the Halo: Reach custom Xbox 360 — and also a boosted 360GB hard drive. But it’s not all about the console, Microsoft assures gamers, as they've released additional information and images on one of Kinect Star Wars' modes: podracing. Giving players the chance to race like Little Orphan Anakin along Boonta Eve (and other unlockable areas areas within the Star Wars universe) may be one of the more appealing chances for the Kinect to show its stuff.

As for the price for all of these wondrous collectable goodies, it’s going to set you back a good $449.99, yet that is including:

  • Kinect Star Wars game
  • Custom R2-D2-themed Xbox 360 Console with custom sounds
  • White Kinect Sensor
  • Custom C-3PO-themed Xbox 360 Wireless Controller
  • 320 GB Hard Drive
  • Xbox 360 Wired Headset

Plus “downloadable content” that has yet to be outlined. It sounds like the perfect way for the Star Wars fanatic (who is still without an Xbox 360 or Kinect) to show their support.

So what do you think Ranters, will it be enough to turn you over to the Dark Side of the Force, or will you stay strong and hold your money, maybe for that MMO that’s just recently announced their information? Let us know what you’re thinking!

Kinect Star Wars and the Xbox 360 Limited Edition Kinect Star Wars Bundle are set to release this holiday season.
