Microsoft made a series of major announcements at Gamescom 2019, from the confirmation of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds crossplay to the reveal of two new Xbox One controllers, but it says that its upcoming X019 event will be much larger.

Aaron Greenberg, the general manager of Xbox Games Marketing, showed up at Gamescom 2019 to share some information about X019. Between November 14-16, 2019, the Microsoft team will head to London, England, for a three-day "celebration" of Xbox.

Greenberg teased that the event will be the "biggest Inside Xbox event of the year," and that fans can expect more news and announcements, panels with Xbox game developers, and those who attend the show will be able to go to meet and greet sessions. While Greenberg didn't offer any real details about what fans can expect, he did say that there will be some "surprises" in store for fans.

The 2018 event, X018, was a big deal and had major announcements too, including Microsoft's acquisition of Fallout: New Vegas and The Outer Worlds developer Obsidian Entertainment and confirmation of a handful of games for Xbox Game Pass such as PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.

X019 could be even bigger considering this might be Microsoft's last big event for 2019 and a teaser for 2020. Many fans will have their fingers crossed for more information about Xbox Project Scarlett, the next-generation Xbox console that it officially unveiled at E3 2019.

This could look like a confirmed name for the console, pricing, a release date, or more information about launch titles. Microsoft has confirmed that Halo Infinite will be a launch title but fans aren't sure about what else they'll get to play when Project Scarlett launches sometime in holiday 2020.

Microsoft also announced several major games at the event such as Bleeding Edge the multiplayer game from Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice developer Ninja Theory and Microsoft Flight Simulator. Fans would probably be quite happy to see more of these games too. Other big plans from the company, such as game streaming service Project xCloud, Xbox Game Pass, and live streaming platform Mixer may feature at the event as well.
