In Wytchwood, players play a witch looking to collect souls in order to complete a contract she made with a goat. Players have to collect spells and objects in order to create items to complete puzzles, and one of the many items they'll need to pick up is called Pickpocket's Gloves.
Pickpocket's Gloves in Wytchwood
While Pickpocket's Gloves aren't used for a whole lot in the indie game Wytchwood, they are a little tricky to find. During both the Cat's and the Fish's storyline quest chains, the witch will need to create a Pluckpocket. This weird contraception can be used to pickpocket villagers or grab things that are just out of reach. The Pluckpocket is made from three ingredients:
- Bones, which can be found in the mud piles in the Graveyard
- Crab Claws, which can be taken from Crabs by creating a Crab Trap
- Pickpocket's Gloves
The only hint the game gives for finding these elusive items is that they can be found in either the Village or the Market, so players can use a Hearthseed to fast travel to the in-between and then to the Village. But there are only a few people who will drop the gloves when tricked.
Tricking a Pickpocket
In Wytchwood, players come across a band of Bandits in the Fields, and they are nasty little creatures that can only be defeated with a creepy doll. When players get to town and unlock the Wytchwood fast-travel portal to the in-between, they might see even mores Bandits in the town. They will steal coins from the witch, so they should be avoided. However, these aren't actually Bandits though they look very similar to them: these are actually Pickpockets, and the creepy dolls won't work on them.
In order to get the gloves off of a Pickpocket, players need to create a Shiny Lure. These are the same Shiny Lures players need to catch and kill Elves for the Gargoyle's Quest for the Gnome Hat, Sewing Kit, and the Elf Shoes, but instead, they will be used to trap a person.
Put a Shiny Lure, which is made from Shining Stones (which were also needed to light the braziers in Wytchwood's first chapter), Fireflies, and Bundles of Wood, down in the middle of the road near a Pickpocket. Make sure there are no Elves around, or they may get to the Lure first. After that, wait for the Pickpocket. The Lure's magic will trigger, scaring the Pickpocket and scaring his gloves right off. Each pickpocket drops between one and two gloves.
