For decades, the Royal Rumble has long been one of the most exciting WWE pay-per-view events every year. Considered one of WWE's "big four" pay-per-view events and having major implications for WrestleMania, the Royal Rumble is known its namesake match, which is often full of surprise appearances, shocking eliminations, and high-quality action.

This year's Royal Rumble should be no different. Besides the Rumble matches themselves, fans also have to look forward to multiple title matches, including a Strap Match where "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt will be defending his WWE Universal Championship against Daniel Bryan. Becky Lynch is defending the WWE Raw Women's Championship against Asuka, and Bayley will also be putting her title on the line against Lacey Evans.

The undercard will also feature the latest in the ongoing feud between King Corbin and Roman Reigns, with the two now meeting in a Falls Count Anywhere Match. It will be interesting to see if this is the final bout between the two, and if so, who Reigns will feud with next.

Check back here throughout the night as this page is updated with WWE Royal Rumble 2020 live results and match grades.

1. Falls Count Anywhere Match: King Corbin vs. Roman Reigns

Winner: Roman Reigns. As far as Falls Count Anywhere matches go, this was one was a little better than typical WWE fare. They actually spent most of the time out in the crowd and around the arena as opposed to just in the ringside area, which was a nice change of pace from the norm for WWE when it comes to these kinds of matches. The match itself was mostly fine. Sometimes the brawling between spots went on too long, but the spots themselves were entertaining.

The crowd was solidly behind Roman Reigns and against Corbin, which helped a ton and shows that Corbin is a genuinely effective heel. Reigns put Corbin through two separate tables with Samoan Drops, but then Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode came out to attack Reigns. The Usos offered Reigns some back up, and there was a cool spot where one of the Usos threw themselves off a ledge onto the crowd of people below.

Things then went back to Reigns and Corbin one-on-one. Reigns shoved Corbin into a port-a-potty and tipped it over, which would have been a bit more effective had toilet water spilled out of it. The fight then went to the dugouts, with Corbin hitting Reigns with some atrocious-looking chair shots. Reigns battled back by countering the End of Days with a forearm, and then finished Corbin off with a Superman Punch and a weak-looking Spear.

2. Women's Royal Rumble Match

Winner: Charlotte Flair. The first half of this match was pretty boring, except for Biana Belair going on a tear and eliminating almost everybody. Just like at recent NXT Takeover events, Belair had a standout performance in this Royal Rumble match, which overall was much better than last year's women's Royal Rumble despite being bland for the first half. There were a few surprise entrants, including Kelly Kelly, Beth Phoenix, and Mighty Molly, though the only one that was really of note was Phoenix.

Besides Belair, Beth Phoenix also had a notable performance in this match, but for an unfortunate reason. At some point in the match, Phoenix smacked her head on a ringpost and started bleeding out of the back of her head. Instead of stopping the match, she continued pushing through, which we later found out was because she was needed for a spot with Santina Marella and Natalya. That spot was goofy, but also a bit of a redemption for Santina winning the women's battle royale to crown Miss WrestleMania a decade ago.

The #30 spot went to Shayna Baszler, who looked just as great as Belair in the ring. Baszler eliminated many more women from the match, with the final two being her and Charlotte Flair. While Baszler would have perhaps been the more interesting competitor to win, Flair was ultimately able to get the victory, setting a clear path for her to WrestleMania.

Grade: B

3. WWE SmackDown Women's Championship Match: Bayley (c) vs. Lacey Evans

Winner: Bayley. The match started with the crowd not really being into things. The women didn't do a bad job, but they had the unfortunate spot of having to follow the Rumble match. There was some interesting interaction between Bayley and Lacey Evans' daughter, but with Evans having been presented as a heel until just recently, it's hard to buy into the dynamic here. There just wasn't enough build-up for the Evans turn, and Bayley would benefit from having a pure face to face off against. The finish came when Bayley got her knees up and blocked a pretty impressive moonsault attempt from Evans and then rolled her up, pulling the tights for some extra leverage and the cheap win.

Grade: C

4. Strap Match for the WWE Universal Championship: "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt (c) vs. Daniel Bryan

Winner: "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt. No one really thought Bryan was going to win this match, but it's a testament to his skill as a professional wrestler that he still managed to get the crowd emotionally-invested. There have been far more brutal Strap Matches in WWE history, but this one still had a foreboding atmosphere to it, with Bryan taking the majority of the hard strap shots from The Fiend. A few hope spots really made the crowd come to life, like when Bryan nailed Wyatt with the running knee, which seemed to do more damage to him than Seth Rollins' Curb Stomps did at Hell in a Cell last year. The match itself was pretty great, but the ending was weak and deflated things quite a bit. The Mandible Claw Slam Wyatt did to Bryan lacked impact, and then the pin at the end seemed a little fast and caught the crowd off-guard. Still a good match, just with a poorly executed finish.

Grade: B+

5. WWE Raw Women's Championship Match: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Asuka w/ Kairi Sane

Winner: Becky Lynch. Had Asuka been booked better prior to her most recent push, there would have been a lot more drama surrounding this match. Even without Asuka's added edge, the match was still quite good, and the story it told was engaging throughout. The highlight came when Lynch kicked Asuka in the gut during her Green Mist attempt, causing Asuka to blind herself with her own mist. Lynch then locked Asuka in the Dis-Arm-Her to get the submission victory and retain her title. Now Becky can look ahead to her next challenge.

6. Men's Royal Rumble Match

Winner: Drew McIntyre. From top to bottom, this Royal Rumble match was just incredible, and arguably one of the best in history. The first half told the story of Brock Lesnar being absolutely dominate, and while some may tire from Brock's overpowered nature, they thought up some fun spots. He even had a short interaction with Shelton Benjamin, which was a nice callback to their amateur wrestling careers and even their early days in the WWE. Kofi Kingston also got some redemption on Brock by being the first person in the match to actually get offense on Lesnar, though he was eventually eliminated.

Lesnar mostly kept the ring clear, but then Ricochet managed to hit him with a low blow. Drew McIntyre followed that up with a picture-perfect Claymore Kick that sent Lesnar over the top rope and to the floor. The second half of the match was then a story of just one epic moment after another, with top stars from both Raw and SmackDown coming out, getting their most impressive moves in, and executing everything flawlessly and to the uproarious approval of the crowd.

The big shock came when Edge returned from retirement. And not only did Edge return from retirement, but he looked great. In fact, he looked better in-ring than he did when he was wrestling regularly right before he stepped away from the ring. Edge dished out some vicious Spears, but he also took quite a few hard hits of his own, showing that he's still able to hang with the younger generation. His interactions with Randy Orton were great, and it was nice to see him reach the final three competitors.

Edge and Roman Reigns had a great sequence with each other, though Reigns ended up eliminating Edge from the match. Drew McIntyre then eliminated Reigns, and won the Royal Rumble in shocking fashion. McIntyre's win is well-deserved and will do a great deal to propel him to the next stage of his WWE career. It's crazy to think that he left WWE as a jobber in the 3MB group, reinvented himself in TNA/Impact Wrestling, and has now come back as one of the top stars in the WWE. Hopefully McIntyre is actually given the chance to headline WrestleMania in the main event this year, that would be the perfect ending to his historical comeback.
