WWE is the premiere performative wrestling organization in America, and within it, the possibilities are endless. Stand-up comedian Kenice Mobley recently appeared on the podcast Asian Not Asian earlier this month to discuss her new role writing scenarios for WWE, and she revealed intriguing information about the process, clarifying that she didn't know much about the franchise going in. However, according to Sean Ross Sap, Mobley's admission of being unfamiliar with the WWE has caused her to lose her position.

The WWE gig was set to be Kenice Mobley's big break into the industry. The comedian has a few credits as a producer, writer, production designer, set decorator, and other miscellaneous positions on various short films and television shows. She has also been featured on television shows such as The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. According to Mobley, she explained to the hiring staff that she had a background in film production and comedy writing, and that was enough to get her hired for the job.

During the podcast, Mobley stated that she had been added to the Monday Night Raw team specifically. She was excited to be added to the team but had trouble remembering specific wrestlers. "So there’s Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown and the people I know that are on it are Bobby — his name is either Bobby Ashley or Bobby Lashley and I really should know that," Mobley said, "He’s like this giant Black guy and he and the people who are part of his crew, I know that they call — or at least as of last year, they called themselves The Hurt Business."

A number of wrestlers have recently been cut from the show including Aleister Black, Braun Strowman, Lana, Murphy, Ruby Riott, and Santana Garrett. With a plethora of WWE wrestlers competing in the rings of SmackDown and Raw comes a limitless variety of matchups that can appear onscreen at any moment. This means that writers are likely being hired to help build up the storylines and dialogue that make matches that much more memorable.

Mobley's hiring may not have been such a noticeable move had she not revealed her lack of knowledge in this particular interview. WWE has received some criticism in the past for hiring writers who aren't familiar with the company or its history.

WWE's Monday Night Raw airs on  Monday at 8 pm ET on the USA Network.
