WWE Superstar Ember Moon announced during an interview that her wrestling persona is based on a Dungeons and Dragons character. She and some of her fellow wrestlers recently sat down together via livestream to play through the newest D&D module Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frost Maiden.

Many people stereotype Dungeons and Dragons players as scrawny nerds, but media portrayals like in Stranger Things are pushing back on these perspectives and getting more people interested in the game. Moon's declaration also opposes those boilerplate notions as well. With the WWE athletes playing D&D in a public format and enjoying themselves, many stereotypes were broken down as the players got to experience the new adventure.

Moon revealed that she was inspired in her creation of her in-ring character by a specific character that many fans of Dungeons and Dragons are familiar with. Drizzt Do'Urden, the Drow ranger character from the still-running fantasy book series by R.A. Salvatore, is the one that influenced Moon's wrestling persona.

Drizzt first appears in the novel The Crystal Shard, where he and his companions save the North from many adversaries that the region faces. This specific dark elf seems to defy the inherently evil nature that Drow are usually portrayed with, the depiction of which is causing Wizards of the Coast to change the way race works in Dungeons and Dragons.

Moon said that she was especially excited to play the new D&D adventure module because it is set in Icewind Dale, the land where Drizzt and his companions started their adventures. In a way, that means Moon can play through the world of the character that inspired her wresting persona along with other WWE superstars, and she is happy to relive the book setting in through role-playing it out in Dungeons and Dragons.

Sometime this year, Moon and other fans will be able to play as Drizzt and his companions in the upcoming video game Dark Alliance. With so much Drizzt-related content to look forward to later this year, fans will be able to see a lot more from the dark elf and the world he hails from.
