WWE All Stars, the latest in a long line of titles from the professional wrestling company, is not what you would expect it to be. Whereas almost every game in the Smackdown vs. Raw line-up tried to be as realistic as possible, that isn’t the case here. Gone is the realism in both the wrestling and the characters’ looks. Instead, the characters of WWE All Stars are so ridiculously muscular they could never be real, and the wrestling is so over-the-top and insane it feels like… well, a video game.

As the title of the game hints, the character roster has a combination of wrestlers both from the WWE’s golden age and their current crop of stars. In addition to the likes of ever-popular John Cena and The Rock, you can also have longtime legends like Hulk Hogan and “Macho Man” Randy Savage face off against today’s faces, such as Randy Orton and Edge. This will allow wrestling fans to play out their ultimate dream matches, not longer having to fantasize about who should face off against who from wrestling’s long, long history, constantly debating over who would beat who and why.

Naturally, with a roster consisting of wrestlers past and present, this sort of thing would happen again. The trailer, subtitled “Fantasy Warfare,” shows off a number of fantasy matches, including Randy Orton vs. Jake “The Snake” Roberts, CM Punk vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin and others, along with spliced together promos for said matches. The WWE All Stars trailer also mentions 15 matches in particular, as well as a special screen detailing the matches.

What other matches that could appear is up for debate, but this certainly seems to be a special treat for any wrestling fan looking to give this game a try.

What’s would be the single ultimate WWE match-up?

WWE All Stars is set to release on March 29th for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii.
