WWE 2K23 has increased Rhea Ripley's overall rating from 87 to 90. Some WWE fans weren't impressed with WWE 2K23's initial assessment of Rhea Ripley, pointing out her in-ring accomplishments as evidence that she deserved a higher score. Not only has Ripley held multiple titles since making her WWE debut years ago, but she's constantly presented as one of the most powerful women on the entire roster, even going toe-to-toe with male competitors at times.

Rhea Ripley won the latest iteration of the Women's Royal Rumble match and was also the first woman to ever win it from the number one spot. Despite this impressive accomplishment and the fact that she will be facing Charlotte Flair for the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania 39, Ripley was still stuck with an 87 overall rating.

The decision to increase Ripley's overall rating from 87 to 90 in WWE 2K23 was revealed in a skit uploaded by the UpUpDownDown TikTok page. In the video, UpUpDownDown host Xavier Woods seemingly receives a phone call from Dominik Mysterio, who is hinted to be Ripley's love interest of sorts on WWE programming. While viewers can't hear the other side of the conversation, it seems Mysterio is upset over Ripley's overall rating because it's then when fans learn it's been upgraded from 87 to 90.

Notably, this means that Ripley's overall rating has now surpassed those of her fellow Judgment Day members. Finn Balor and Ripley were once tied at 87, whereas Damian Priest had an 84 rating. Dominik Mysterio has the lost rating in the group with a mere 78. This makes sense, as Ripley has clearly had a stronger showing this past year than her stablemates. And while Balor has been positioned as the leader of the group, Ripley is definitely the breakout star.

It's highly unusual for any kind of sports game to adjust the overall rating for someone, but it seems the backlash was significant enough to warrant this change. There are still many more wrestler overall ratings to learn about in the meantime. WWE 2K23 is revealing overall ratings for both members of the active roster as well as the legends that will be featured in the game, but it remains to be seen if there will be more controversial scores or not.

The highest-rated wrestlers on the WWE 2K23 roster so far are Roman Reigns with a stunning 99, Brock Lesnar with 97, and Becky Lynch with 96. It's unlikely anyone will beat those scores, but fans won't know for sure until the full list of overall ratings are revealed.

WWE 2K23 launches March 17 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
