There are multiple ways to beat an opponent in WWE 2K23. There are weak and strong attacks and grapples. Then players can finish their opponents with signatures and finishing moves or holds that have a better chance of putting their opponents away in crowd-pleasing ways.
Certain wrestlers in WWE 2K23 can catch their opponents off mid-air and hit them with an impressive-looking finisher. Wrestlers like The Rock, Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, John Cena, Randy Orton, Shawn Michael, The Undertaker, and more WWE Superstars can defeat their opponents with a catch finisher to defeat their opponents. There are two variations to hit an opponent with a finisher in mid-air. Use these steps to learn how to do them.
Catch Finisher From The Top Rope
Whether it's an RKO out of nowhere, a Rock Bottom from The Rock, or an F5 that's caught a diving opponent with raw strength, players can hit these moves using the following steps:
- Pick a wrestler that is capable of hitting a catch finisher.
- Ensure that they have a finisher stored.
- When the opponent decides to climb the top turnbuckle for an attack, keep an eye on their feet animation.
- Press R2/RT and Square/X as soon the feet move for an attack to hit them with a top rope catch finisher - Try to preempt the attack rather than wait for the game to prompt a finisher.
Reversal To A Catch Finisher
It's possible to hit the catch finisher after a counter for some power wrestlers and super heavyweights. Some opponents will go for a cross body from the top rope, and unfortunately for them, it can be reversed.
- Using a powerhouse like Brock Lesnar, prepare to reverse a top rope attack.
- When standing, press the Triangle/Y button when they jump from the top turnbuckle for an attack.
- If reversed, the powerhouse will hold them in the carry position. With a stored finisher, press R2/RT, and the Square/X buttons hit the finisher.
Catch Finisher Off The Irish Whip
Catch finishers aren't exclusive powerhouses, but lighter wrestlers like Randy Orton and WWE Superstar Shawn Michaels can hit their opponents with finishers out of nowhere from all the same positions. These moves work for the big wrestlers too. The rebound catch finisher may be better with a performer like Shawn Michaels because of the speed.
- With a Finisher stored, grab the opponent with the Circle/B.
- Then press the Circle/B, and the direction stick toward the ropes.
- On the rebound, press L1/LB before they get too close. This will lift them from the ground.
- With the opponent in the air, quickly press the R2/RT and Square/X buttons to hit the rebound catch finisher.
