WWE 2K23 has just announced that it will be adding a fully playable character for free. The game has been out since March 2023 and has continued to roll out massive improvements to the gameplay via various patches and updates, to the delight of many fans. While WWE 2K23 has a massive initial roster, the tease of patching in new Superstars for free is already making waves, especially to those who want to see some names who've made their way back to the company.

At the moment, WWE 2K23's MyFaction contains a lot of unique Superstars that aren't playable in other modes. Last year's game had an exclusive character, The Godfather, only be present in that mode. While fans and modders have found a way to upload said characters via Community Creations, they still don't feel as complete because they lack a few assets that don't exist in the game. However, the buzz for these Superstars means that new playable Superstars get many fans excited at the prospect of being to use new roster members.

According to WWE 2K23's Twitter account, WWE Superstar Mia Yim will be officially added to the game after the next official update. This comes hot off the heels of the recent patch wherein a WWE 2K23 modder found a few hidden models that include Candice LeRae as well. She made her return to WWE too late to be added to the official roster, and that's why she wasn't included this year. Her last appearance was in WWE 2K22, as RECKONING and Mia Yim. By the looks of the video, it seems that her previous model was used for this year's edition.

WWE 2K23 may be teasing more Superstars to be added as WWE Games Associate Gameplay Producer Bryan Williams stated that 2K plans to patch in some free roster additions. Williams was recently interviewed on The Pro Wrestling Shoot Podcast wherein he discussed the upcoming DLC and the aforementioned free additions. While he didn't divulge more information, the fact that the WWE 2K23 team announced Yim's addition proved his statements to be true.

With a rich and robust custom character creator, and WWE 2K23's Season Pass DLC's coming up soon, the game looks to be providing a wide array of selectable characters that will allow players to have more options in the game. The planned continuous support by WWE 2K23's development team sounds good as this will help create a healthy relationship with consumers. Gamers may be able to trust that the 2K team will be continuously improving the experience for those who are concerned about the game's longevity.

WWE 2K23 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
