The first six months of 2022 are proving to be some of the craziest times in recent memory for professional wrestling, whether it be the first crossover show for AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling or WWE celebrating 20 years of John Cena. One of the biggest shockers of the year, though, was Cody Rhodes returning to WWE to immediate success, though his moment has hit a road-bump in the form of a pectoral tear that may keep him out of action for the rest of 2022. He was able to get one more match in, though, at 2022's Hell in a Cell and a WWE 2K22 player looks to capture that magic and image with their latest custom Cody Rhodes.WWE 2K22 is the latest WWE game from 2K Games and Visual Concepts, coming roughly two years after the much maligned release of WWE 2K20. Modes like Showcase, Universe, and MyCareer returned with some significant changes, the latter of three being rebranded to MyRISE. It also saw the return of a general manager mode to WWE games in the form of MyGM, where players can pick one of five notable WWE authority figures or a custom character to control the direction of either Raw, SmackDown, NXT, or NXT UK.RELATED: WWE Wanted Bray Wyatt Removed from the WWE 2K22 RosterLike previous games, though, the create-a-wrestler continues to be the one where some of the most popular gems in the WWE 2K community come from. Cody Rhodes has been a regular for many players to create as it was revealed that the third-generation star would not be added to the game until WWE 2K23. WWE 2K22 content creator OmegamanX44 is one of the players creating custom Cody Rhodes for other players to download and, as mentioned above, looked to Hell in a Cell 2022 for their next Cody Rhodes creation.

OmegamanX44's custom Cody Rhodes captures his injury seen during Hell in a Cell with striking accuracy, given the size of the bruising. The only notable difference is the gear Omegaman uses which is not what Rhodes wore during the match, though this is the only difference of note.

Rhodes' performance at Hell in a Cell drew plenty of attention to the show as it came out days before he had completely torn one of his pectoral muscles clean off the bone. Despite the injury, Rhodes insisted on delivering the main event match he was advertised for against Seth Rollins. By the day of the show, a massive bruise had formed along Rhodes' right pec and through the top-half of his arm but still managed to pull out the win. He has since successfully undergone surgery and is expected to be out for the rest of 2022, though many fans are hoping he will be back in time for the 2023 Royal Rumble.

WWE 2K22 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
