In addition, they can contain emerald versions of John Cena, Randy Orton, Sasha Banks, Rick Flair, and Razor Ramon. In this mode, players collect cards featuring their favorite wrestlers from the current crop of superstars to legends from decades past. Every wrestler comes with their own archetype, ratings, skills, and move sets. With the collected wrestlers, players must form their own faction within the WWE universe consisting of two teams of four, one male and one female.

Previous entries in the WWE series have suffered from online connectivity issues, and unfortunately, WWE 2K22 is having its own troubles. It didn't take long for players to react to the announcement of Signature Series 1 MyFaction Packs on Twitter. Some common complaints included connection errors while claiming rewards, universe mode crashes, save data corruption bugs, and some players reporting they cannot connect to the servers at all.

The inclusion of a card-collecting and team-builder mode in WWE 2K22 seems to have divided fans of the franchise. Some have embraced the mode despite its current issues, while others have condemned the mode entirely for not allowing unlocked characters within MyFaction to be used in other sections of the game. Other players have complained about the lack of online features within the mode, such as an auction house. Players are hoping that 2K Games will announce a patch for the known connectivity issues soon.

WWE 2K22 has received mostly positive reviews since its launch on March 8th, 2022. WWE 2K22 saw 72% of its sales made up of digital copies, which is significantly more than the 30% digital launch sales that were recorded by WWE 2K20.
