WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2006 introduced the fan favorite General Manager mode to the franchise, which was improved upon in WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007 and WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008. Despite General Manager mode's popularity, subsequent WWE video games abandoned it. After over a decade of General Manager mode being missing from WWE video games, it's finally making a comeback in the upcoming WWE 2K22.

Visual Concepts and 2K Sports confirmed awhile ago that WWE 2K22 would be bringing back General Manager mode. The mode is now known as MyGM mode, and like previous iterations, it allows players to book their own WWE shows, manage superstar contracts, and more. The latest WWE 2K22 trailer has revealed even more details about MyGM, specifically the different general managers that players will get to play as in the game.

Today's WWE television doesn't really have strict Raw and SmackDown General Managers like were featured back in the day. The on-screen authority figures tend to appear on both Raw and SmackDown shows, and so it wasn't clear how the new game would handle that. It's now been confirmed that WWE 2K22 MyGM players will simply be able to choose between four of WWE's authority figures come launch.

WWE 2K22 MyGM Mode General Managers List

  • Adam Pearce
  • Sonya Deville
  • Shane McMahon
  • Stephanie McMahon

The WWE 2K22 MyGM general managers players will be able to choose from consist of Adam Pearce, Sonya Deville, Shane McMahon, and Stephanie McMahon. On current WWE television, Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville are two of the main authority figures, booking matches, coming into conflict with superstars, and making decisions that ultimately impact the course of storylines on both Raw and SmackDown. Shane and Stephanie aren't seen on WWE TV on a regular basis nowadays, but serve important roles behind the scenes and in-storyline are still generally in charge of things.

It remains to be seen exactly how WWE 2K22's MyGM mode works in action, but fans should find out in the weeks ahead. In the meantime, other lingering questions about the game will likely be answered as well. For example, it has yet to be clarified if Shane McMahon will be a playable wrestler on the WWE 2K22 roster as well as being one of the options for players to choose from in the MyGM mode. McMahon doesn't wrestle full-time, but he did fight Braun Strowman in a Steel Cage Match at WrestleMania 37 and has had numerous high profile matches over the years.

More concrete details are sure to come to light the closer we get to WWE 2K22's release date in a couple months.

WWE 2K22 launches March 11 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
