WWE 2K22 was given a lot more time in the oven than most sports games, and that was a direct response to the negative reaction to WWE 2K20. The hope is that this extra development time will help WWE 2K22 avoid the pitfalls that its predecessor experienced and result in a better WWE game overall, and while it remains to be seen if it will stick the landing, fans will find out how it fares sooner rather than later.

The WWE 2K22 release date has been confirmed for Friday, March 11, with fans able to choose from four different versions of the game. There's the Standard Edition, Cross-Gen Bundle, Deluxe Edition, and nWo 4-Life Edition, all with different price points and different content on offer.

Here is what every edition of WWE 2K22 comes with and how much they cost.

WWE 2K22 Standard Edition - $59.99 on PC/PS4/Xbox One, $69.99 on PS5/Xbox Series X

The Standard Edition of WWE 2K22 retails for $59.99 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but it's a little more expensive on next-gen consoles. The PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of WWE 2K22 Standard Edition costs $69.99 and there's no free upgrade, so fans should keep that in mind.

Regardless, those that purchase the Standard Edition will get the base game. WWE 2K22 pre-orders will get fans the Undertaker Immortal Pack, which comes with three alternate costumes from various points of the legendary superstar's career. The Undertaker Immortal Pack includes his Phantom Mask, Lord of Darkness, and Boneyard Match attires, so fans of the Phenom may very well want to pre-order WWE 2K22 if they're planning on picking the game up. Undertaker-themed MyFACTION EVO cards will also be available in the pack.

Meanwhile, those that buy a physical version of WWE 2K22 Standard Edition will also get limited edition Rey and Dominik Mysterio cards for the WWE SuperCard game.

WWE 2K22 Cross-Gen Bundle - $79.99

The Standard Edition of WWE 2K22 doesn't come with a free next-gen upgrade, but there is a version of the game available that players can purchase to get access to both the PS4/Xbox One and PS5/Xbox Series X versions. The WWE 2K22 Cross-Gen Bundle will cost $79.99, though the catch is that it's digital-only. And while it's a bit more expensive than one might hope, it does come with a little more extra content than the Standard Edition.

The WWE 2K22 Cross-Gen Bundle includes more content based on cover star Rey Mysterio, with fans getting access to the Starrcade '96 Rey Mysterio Pack. The Starrcade '96 Rey Mysterio Pack includes new attire for Mysterio based on his Starrcade '96 appearance, plus a '96 Rey Mysterio Ruby MyFACTION card that players can use in that game mode.

Otherwise, the WWE 2K22 Cross-Gen Bundle is the same as the Standard Edition, giving players the base game and those that pre-order the Undertaker Immortal pack.

WWE 2K22 Deluxe Edition - $99.99

The WWE 2K22 Deluxe Edition costs $99.99, but it gives WWE 2K22 players a lot more content than the Standard Edition and Cross-Gen Bundle. It includes the base game, Starrcade '96 Rey Mysterio Pack, and the Undertaker Immortal Pack (without requiring a pre-order), plus those that buy the physical version will get the Rey and Dominik Mysterio cards for the WWE SuperCard game.

On top of all that content, those that buy the WWE 2K22 Deluxe Edition will also get the Season Pass, which includes five DLC Packs released at some point after launch. The Season Pass will primarily add new playable characters to the roster, though details on who exactly that may be have not been revealed at the time of this writing.

Those that buy the WWE 2K22 Deluxe Edition will also get their hands on a MyRISE Mega-Boost to give themselves a head start in that mode, plus a SuperCharger pack.

Perhaps the best perk that the WWE 2K22 Deluxxe Edition brings to the table, though, is that pre-ordering it gives fans early access to the game. Instead of having to wait for the March 11 WWE 2K22 release date to roll around, those that pre-order the Deluxe Edition can jump in on the action starting March 8 instead.

WWE 2K22 nWo 4-Life Edition - $119.99

And finally, the WWE 2K22 nWo 4-Life Edition is the most expensive version of the game, costing fans $119.99. It comes with all the content in the WWE 2K22 Deluxe Edition, including the March 8 early access pre-order bonus, but with some extras themed around the iconic nWo faction of WCW fame. Notably, picking up the WWE 2K22 nWo 4-Life Edition is how players will get access to the nWo versions of some of the game's superstars, with "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Syxx (better known as X-Pac in WWE), and Eric Bischoff added to the roster as playable characters.

Additional nWo-themed content coming in the WWE 2K22 nWo 4-Life Edition includes new arenas based on classic WCW pay-per-views (specifics are unavailable at the time of this writing), and the nWo Wolfpac Championship. Fans that spring for the WWE 2K22 nWo 4-Life Edition bundle will also get a gold MyFACTION card pack with nWo EVO cards.

WWE 2K22 launches March 11 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
