WWE 2K updates its roster's ratings after every installment. They do this according to the wrestler's performance at the time the game is being developed. This is done to keep the game up to date on the WWE storylines, maximizing the game's relevance. Though some wrestlers such as Kofi Kingston had an impressive rating jump in the past year, other superstars weren't as lucky.
These ratings aren't just mere numbers either. They are the average score of the points in the wrestler's physical attributes; such as arm power, leg power, movement speed, agility, striking speed, grapple speed, submission, etc. That means the higher the rating, the more powerful the wrestler is in-game. With that being said, here are 10 wrestlers in WWE 2K20 with lower ratings from 2K19.
10 Sheamus (Old: 84 New: 82)
The Celtic Warrior Sheamus had a rating of 84 in WWE 2k19. In 2K20, it's down by 2 points at 82. The Celtic warrior has quite the maneuvers in his arsenal. One of his finishing maneuvers is the brogue kick. Sheamus together with Cesaro are members of a tag-team called The Bar.
They were an integral part of the tag-team division, winning tag-team championships. However, in 2019, the tag team faced loss after loss until they were eventually disbanded. This may explain the lower rating.
9 Braun Strowman (Old: 89 New: 87)
The Monster Among Men Braun Strowman is the most immovable object in the WWE right now. The beast stands at 6 feet 8 inches tall and weighs nearly 400 pounds. This behemoth bulldozed the competition during his early years in the WWE, decimating foes and winning handicap matches.
Strowman had a rating of 89 in WWE 2k19 following his dominating performance in WWE at the time. He has eliminated a record five people in an Elimination Chamber match and 13 contestants in a Royal Rumble. Strowman also won the Money In The Bank that year. After some subpar booking in 2019, Strowman received a lower rating in the 2K20 game at 87, down by two points.
8 Alexa Bliss (Old: 85 New: 83)
Alexa Bliss is one of the sweetest superstars in the female division. However, looks can be deceiving. She packs a mean punch in the ring. In 2K19, she had a rating of 85, following her reign as Raw Women's Champion. She won several matches, including the Elimination Chamber match, to retain her title.
She eventually lost her title to Nia Jax. Bliss had limited in-ring competition in 2019 as she was given non-wrestling roles. She had also taken up the role of a host when she debuted her segment "A Moment Of Bliss." This resulted in a lower rating in 2K20 at 83 down by two points.
7 Apollo Crews (Old: 76 New: 74)
Apollo Crews is a highly agile powerhouse whose strength is as breathtaking as his leaping abilities. However, he is outshined by brighter storylines and superstars. Even so back in 2018. He had been a jobber in the singles division, and in the tag-team division, he and Titus O'Neil were always so close to winning the tag-team gold.
Thus initially, he already had a low rating at 76. In 2019, he lacked some exposure, only appearing in multi-man match-ups, losing every one. This resulted in his new rating of 74 in WWE 2K20. Down by two. Though recently he won the United States Championship and is now the current champion, 2K20, unfortunately, has never seen those events take place.
6 Jeff Hardy (Old: 84 New: 82)
The charismatic enigma Jeff Hardy is known for crashing headfirst into danger. This daredevil dives off the highest spots without fear. In 2017, he and Matt Hardy made an impactful return to WWE on the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania. They captured the Raw Tag Team Championships that night.
As a singles competitor, Hardy became a Grand Slam champion after capturing the United States Championship from Jinder Mahal, having a nice reign afterward. This earned him a rating of 84 in 2K19. Hardy lost the title to Shinsuke Nakamura, and faced loss after loss, including some time off the air. This resulted in a lower rating of 82 for 2K20, down by two.
5 No Way Jose (Old: 71 New: 67)
No Way Jose is known for his carefree party gimmick and his catchy theme. However, he constantly jobs to put other talent over. Jose gets loss after loss and feels as if he's just filling in slots and match cards. This results in an initially low rating of 71 in 2K19.
Jose was a participant in the 2019 Royal Rumble but was eliminated 2 seconds later after entering. This, along with significant off air time pushed his rating even lower to 67 in 2K20. Down by four points.
4 Fandango (Old: 79 New: 75)
Fandango and Tyler Breeze are the most entertaining duo in WWE. They provide some much needed comic relief in the form of backstage segments and even have some shenanigans in the ring. They didn't have the spotlight on the main roster though with their constant losses. This results in a sub-par rating of 79 in 2K19. Fandango was out for some time due to a shoulder injury, resulting in a lower 2K20 rating of 75, down by four points. His partner Breeze on the other hand retained his 2K19 rating.
3 Nia Jax (Old: 84 New: 79)
Nia Jax was Raw Women's Champion in 2018. She lost the title to Alexa Bliss after she cashed in on her to take the title away from her. Even then, Jax was always in the title picture. She's the powerhouse of the women's division. An immovable object, and an assertive force.
She stole R-Truth's spot in the Men's Royal Rumble and competed in it, only to be eliminated by Rey Mysterio. This gave her a proper rating of 84 in 2K19. Jax was moved to the tag title picture but lost every bout with her partner Tamina. She was also out of action after ACL tears on both of her knees, resulting in a lower rating in 2K20 at 79, down by five points.
2 Natalya (Old: 83 New: 76)
Once part of the dominant Hart Dynasty, Natalya was a force to be reckoned with in the WWE. Natalya was the Smackdown Women's Champion in 2017. She was constantly in the title picture, along with her impressive tag matches.
This earned her a decent rating of 83 both in 2K18 and 2K19. However, following some time out of the title picture, along with some subpar rivalries, her rating has suffered considerably and is now at 76, down by seven points.
1 Jinder Mahal (Old: 83 New: 76)
Jinder Mahal was once WWE Champion back in 2017. He had a lengthy title reign as the company's top heel on SmackDown. As a result, he had a decent rating of 88 in 2K18. In 2K19 however, his rating dropped a significant amount after losing the title to AJ Styles and being out of the WWE title picture for some time. His 2K19 rating is 83, down by five points.
It plummeted even further now that Mahal was nowhere near the world title picture in the last year. He was jobbing and filling in match cards, and was even in the 24/7 title picture, one of WWE's goofiest segments. He was also out of action following a knee injury. His rating in 2K20 dropped by a whopping seven points, now at 76.
