It's a big week for WWE. It will be extending NXT to two hours to compete with All Elite Wrestling's Wednesday Night Dynamite show, it's bringing SmackDown to Fox on Friday night (with a WWE Championship match and an appearance from The Rock), and this Sunday is the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event. Later this month, WWE fans also have the launch of WWE 2K20 to look forward to, and while a full roster reveal still has yet to happen, 2K Sports did recently reveal the game's soundtrack.

For professional wrestling video games like WWE 2K20, the soundtrack is hugely important. Older wrestling games have often been praised for their high quality licensed music and it looks like WWE 2K20 will follow in their footsteps (depending on one's musical tastes, of course). The WWE 2K20 soundtrack features a number of today's top stars in the hip-hop, hard rock, punk, metal, electropop and alternative/indie rock genres, so there should be something for most everyone.

One notable name on the WWE 2K20 soundtrack list is Poppy. Poppy, for the uninitiated, is the name of a pop singer/YouTuber who specializes in bizarre, unnerving videos. Poppy is almost always seen in character, and her commitment to not breaking kayfabe makes her a rather fitting inclusion artist for the WWE 2K20 soundtrack, with her song "METAL" being featured.

Here are all 12 songs that will be featured on the WWE 2K20 soundtrack:

  • Banks – “Gimme”
  • Barns Courtney – “99”
  • Bring Me The Horizon ft. Dani Filth – “Wonderful Life”
  • Grandson – “Stigmata”
  • Lil Uzi Vert – “XOTour Llif3”
  • Motley Crue ft. Machine Gun Kelly – “The Dirt”
  • Muse – “The Dark Side”
  • Poppy – “METAL”
  • Saweetie – “Icy Girl”
  • The Black Keys – “LO / HI”
  • The Misfits – “Hybrid Moments”
  • Watt ft. Post Malone – “Burning Man”

Some fans will no doubt be excited to learn what songs will be on the WWE 2K20 soundtrack, but it's clear that many are becoming impatient with 2K Sports over the slow drip of information and gameplay footage. To date, there has not been any significant gameplay videos released of WWE 2K20, and fans are still waiting on a roster reveal as well. This discontent led the Women's Evolution 2K Showcase trailer being mocked by fans, as that trailer consisted almost entirely of live-action footage instead of gameplay.

2K Sports is running out of time to show more of WWE 2K20, as the game is set to launch later this month. Whether or not we see more of WWE 2K20 than just superstar entrances remains to be seen, but we'll find out in the coming weeks.

WWE 2K20 launches on October 22 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
