Professional wrestling fans are likely anxiously awaiting news regarding this year's iteration of WWE 2K. The wrestling game has historically been announced either during E3 or in the weeks following, so anticipation must be building. This year, fans may not have to wait. A reportedly leaked document featuring release information regarding WWE 2K20 was recently discovered, revealing many of the game's secrets.

According to the document, WWE 2K20 is slated to be officially announced on June 24. WWE 2K20 will feature an early release for Digital Deluxe and Collector's Edition buyers on October 1, followed by an October 5 launch for standard edition owners. The game's pre-order bonus will be legendary wrestler Chyna, coinciding with WWE 2K20 showcasing many of the best women's matches in WWE history.

One of the major reveals of the leaked WWE 2K20 document is which wrestler will be the game's cover star, and it may be a surprise. According to the document, none other than "The Man" Becky Lynch will adorn WWE 2K20's cover. Lynch recently defeated Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair in a triple threat, winner takes all match during the Wrestlemania 35 main event, winning both the Raw Women's Championship and the Smackdown Women's Championship.

Another feature revealed in the document is the return of My GM mode. Players will be able to control brands including Raw, Smackdown, and NXT, compete with other brands, and trend online. The official reveal of My GM mode, as well as a trailer, will be shown August 7.

wwe 2k20 leak document

As noted, whether or not this WWE 2K20 leak is real remains to be seen. It's best treated as a rumor until official confirmation has been made. None of the details in the leak appear to be unignorably fake or ridiculous, which does give it some credence. But at the same time, it's difficult to understand why such a document exists in the first place. Real or fake, fans can almost certainly expect official word from 2K during June.

WWE 2K20 is currently unannounced and has no officially supported platforms.
