During the official announcement of WWE 2K20, publisher 2K showed off its cover stars and release date, but didn't stop there. It also detailed the deluxe and collector's editions, as well as the brand new WWE 2K20 Originals DLC that will arrive post-launch, which is described as an add-on to the Showcase mode that will feature the likes of Frankenbraun, Swamp Monster Bray Wyatt, and more.

The WWE 2K20 Originals DLC is a service model, meaning players should expect constant DLC drops post-launch that add "a new playable world and its own unique theme." This is likely designed to extend the life of the game, but how it is implemented matters a lot. Some may worry that this content, particularly the skins, attire, and arenas, unlocked by this DLC will be locked behind Showcase mode, meaning that fans would be paying for something they couldn't show off in Exhibition mode.

It seems like the publisher is trying to channel more mysticism into the otherwise realistic game, likely in a manner similar to the House of Horrors and Zombie Triple-H in WWE 2K19. Although it's not exactly detailed, the inclusions of Frankenbraun and Swamp Monster Bray Wyatt open the doors for other "Monster of the Mat" such as "The Woman With a Smile" Asuka, King of the Dead Undertaker, The Mad Architect Seth Rollins, the Hound of Malice Roman Reigns, The Red Banshee Becky Lynch, the Infernal Beast Brock Lesnar, and others.

Of course, this DLC could also expand beyond these Halloween/terror versions of the wrestlers. More details concerning the particulars will drop in the coming months, but it is worth mentioning that this will be paid DLC. Picking up the WWE 2K20 Deluxe or Collector's edition will reward players with a "complete set" of this DLC, but what that exactly means remains to be seen. Xavier Woods briefly discusses this DLC around the 2:10 mark in the video below.

It'll be interesting to see what WWE 2K2o Originals DLC brings to the table, but it's worth adding that players will have access to the standard Showcase mode when the game launches, which focuses on "The Four Horsewomen." Players will get to explore the careers of Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley, Charlotte Flair, and Sasha Banks before checking out Frankenbraun and/or Swamp Monster Bray Wyatt.
