WWE 2K20 MyCareer Trailer Features Hell, Broken Matt Hardy, and More

WWE 2K20 MyCareer trailer

The WWE 2K20 release date is just a couple of weeks away, but Visual Concepts and 2K Sports have been keeping their cards close to their chest. That has changed this past week with the release of the first substantial WWE 2K20 gameplay trailer, which has now been followed up with a look at MyCareer Mode, featuring a new storyline starring both a male and female wrestler who strive to rise to the top of the professional wrestling world.

For WWE 2K20's MyCareer mode, players will follow both a male and female wrestler as they work together to advance through the ranks of WWE. Their journey will take some very strange turns, including what appears to be a literal trip to Hell to wrestle against The Undertaker. There will be normal matches as well, though the game in general seems to be leaning hard into the supernatural elements. Besides The Undertaker, players will also have to deal with "Broken" Matt Hardy and Papa Shango.

So far, fan reception to the WWE 2K20 MyCareer trailer seems to be mostly positive, with players embracing the supernatural elements and more than a few people in the comments section contrasting it favorably with the poorly-received Hell in a Cell 2019 event.

Now that 2K Sports has pulled the curtain back on MyCareer mode, the next thing players will want to see is the 2K Showcase. We know that the WWE 2K20 2K Showcase focuses on the Women's Evolution storyline in WWE, but no substantial gameplay of it has been shown so far. There was a 2K Showcase trailer that just featured live-action interviews with Bayley, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Sasha Banks, which was mocked by fans for not showing gameplay.

While there has been some turbulence in the leadup to WWE 2K20's launch, the game otherwise seems to be met positively by fans. If the developers manage to stick the landing come WWE 2K20's release date, it could very well end up being one of the better-received pro wrestling games on the market.

WWE 2K20 launches on October 22 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
