WWE 2K20 Gameplay Trailer Finally Released, Teases Supernatural Arenas

wwe 2k20 gameplay trailer

WWE 2K20 is due out later this month, but until today, 2K Sports has only released entrance videos for wrestlers like "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Samoa Joe, keeping most of the gameplay footage underwraps. Now the company has finally released a WWE 2K20 gameplay trailer, showing off some in-ring action in addition to the game's supernatural elements.

As can be seen in the WWE 2K20 gameplay trailer, the game will include otherworldly arenas in addition to the standard WWE arenas that fans see on TV. One example seen in the trailer is an arena that appears to literally be in Hell, complete with demonic imagery and fire. Some sort of demonic entity (maybe it's even Satan?) wrestles in this arena, though it's unclear if this is a character that can be unlocked in the game or if it's someone that players can create using the Create-A-Superstar tools.

It should be noted that at least some of the supernatural elements won't necessarily be included in the base game, as much of it will be featured as part of the 2K Originals Bump in the Night DLC. This DLC pack is appropriately Halloween-themed, and it includes horror versions of various WWE superstars. However, it will only be available as either a standalone purchase, to those who pre-order, or to those who pick up the Deluxe/Collector's Editions of the game.

One character seen multiple times in the trailer is exclusive to the Bump in the Night DLC pack, and that is "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt. The regular version of Bray Wyatt will presumably be included in the base game, but his new, more popular character will only be available in the Bump in the Night DLC. This is a bit unfortunate considering how much The Fiend is featured in the current WWE product, with him even wrestling for the Universal Championship in the main event of Hell in a Cell 2019.

Regardless, the base game of WWE 2K20 should have plenty of content between its Women's Evolution 2K Showcase mode and the standard suite of WWE video game modes. And now that we've been treated to actual gameplay, the next thing to wait for is a full roster reveal, which should come sooner rather than later.

WWE 2K20 launches on October 22 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
