As promised, 2K Sports officially revealed WWE 2K20 earlier today, confirming the game's October 22 release date and Roman Reigns and Becky Lynch as the cover stars. Additional details about what fans can expect from WWE 2K20 were revealed as well, including what this year's 2K Showcase will be about.

As confirmed by 2K Sports, the WWE 2K20 2K Showcase will revolve around the Women's Evolution in the WWE, which has seen the women in the company treated with much more respect and prominence. Fittingly, the 2K Showcase will focus on the Four Horsewomen of the WWE (Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Bayley, and cover star Becky Lynch), detailing their rise to the top with cut-scenes and "objective-based gameplay."

Women's wrestling is being given a greater spotlight in WWE 2K20 than it has in any other past WWE games. Besides the 2K Showcase focusing on the Four Horsewomen, WWE 2K20 will also featured Mixed Tag Team Matches, plus the addition of a female playable character in MyCareer Mode.

A women's wrestling legend will also be honored in the WWE 2K20 Deluxe Edition. Those who shell out the extra cash for the Deluxe Edition will have access to Chyna, one of the most successful women's wrestlers of all time. The WWE Hall of Famer (as part of D-Generation X) is notable for being the first woman to ever hold the Intercontinental Championship, the first woman to participate in the Royal Rumble, the first woman to compete for the WWE Championship, and the first woman to ever enter the King of the Ring tournament.

Overall, it appears as though WWE 2K20 is giving women wrestlers a much bigger spotlight than any games in the past. What will be interesting to see is if any of these women wrestlers are given overall ratings of 90 or more, which is something that no woman could say in WWE 2K19. Considering how prominently women are featured in the current WWE product and the fact that the women wrestled in the main event of WrestleMania for the first time ever at WrestleMania 35, it seems past due for them to be given high overall ratings in the video games.
