WWE 2K19 is set to have one of the most stacked rosters in series history, featuring a slew of legends, modern stars, and even the likes of Ronda Rousey. However, the game does have some glaring omissions on its roster as well, including one that is especially puzzling given his current prominence in WWE.

When WWE 2K19 launches in October, it will not include current NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa on the roster. Furthermore, Ciampa hasn't been mentioned as part of any of the DLC wrestlers that will be released for the game post-launch. When one considers that Ciampa is the current NXT Champion and has been featured in the main event match for multiple WWE Network events this year, his exclusion is strange to say the least.

One theory making the rounds is that Tommaso Ciampa won't be in WWE 2K19 because he was injured during the game's production and was therefore unable to do any motion capture work. This is possible, but it's worth pointing out that other wrestlers have been included without the developers being able to scan them into the game, and since Ciampa has been back in the ring for months now, it doesn't make sense that he wasn't at least added to the DLC lineup.

Tommaso Ciampa not being on the WWE 2K19 roster doesn't make much sense, and it will ensure that the game is outdated as soon as it launches. Ciampa's absence isn't the only reason why WWE 2K19 will be outdated, though; it will also feature an older version of Hell in a Cell, which got an updated look earlier this month in real life.

It's true that there will be some elements to WWE 2K19 that will be outdated, but the game will still feel like a step forward in other ways. We already mentioned how Ronda Rousey is on the roster, but it will also feature some new, recently invented match types, like the bizarre House of Horrors match, for example.

So even though some WWE 2K19 fans may be disappointed that Tommaso Ciampa isn't in the game, at least there's some new game modes to look forward to.

WWE 2K19 will launch worldwide on October 9 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
