About a couple of weeks ago, it was revealed that the developers Yuke's and Visual Concepts' forthcoming professional wrestling video game WWE 2K18 will add the iconic tag-team partners The Hardy Boyz as DLC alongside the likes of Beth Phoenix, and The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express. Now, the companies have decided to incorporate a completely different kind of icon into the title by adding Kentucky Fried Chicken founder and fast food magnate Colonel Sanders into the game.

Avid professional wrestling fans are likely aware of the news of Sanders' inclusion in WWE 2K18, as it was announced with a promotional stunt during WWE's "Hell in a Cell" pay-per-view event. As it so happens, Kurt Angle winded up dressing as the Colonel and was up against fellow WWE Superstar Heath Slater, who wore the duds of the Colonel's competition – that is, the fake mascot of Puppers Cluckers Chicken.

For those wondering how they will be able to gain access to the Colonel as a playable character in WWE 2K18, they will be able to do so by going through the forthcoming title's Create-a-Superstar Mode. What's more, is that it was also announced that those who pre-order the game will receive two different versions of the Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle.

Taking all of this into account, while Colonel Sanders' inclusion in WWE 2K18 is decidedly bizarre, it's definitely not the first instance of the series adding a fictionalized version of a figure into the games. For instance, WWE 2K16 had Arnold Schwarzenegger as The Terminator within the release as a pre-order bonus, with the virtual iteration of the former California governor laying the smack down on all comers. So, it will be interesting to see if any more wacky picks make the cut for WWE 2K18's roster before it launches.

WWE 2K18 is set to release on October 17, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with a Nintendo Switch version set to become available sometime this fall.
