As the days begin to dwindle until the arrival of WWE 2K18 this October, anticipation continues to build. As is usually the case, 2K Games has left fans chomping at the bit to try out the newest installment by taking its sweet time releasing new details, opting to slowly drip roster and feature details – all of which began to drop following the reveal of Seth Rollins as the cover star for WWE 2K18. In fact, one of the biggest things fans have been clamoring for is additional gameplay footage, and 2K Sports was finally willing to tap out to those demands earlier today.

Premiering the footage exclusively through IGN, the wrestling title looks to be the sharpest iteration the series has seen thus far. Legends like Triple H, The Rock, and Undertaker all look like they've made a rather spectacular transition over to the digital rendition of WWE's squared circle, while more modern Superstars such as Charlotte Flair, AJ Styles, and Shinsuke Nakamura have followed suit.

Those eager to see the latest WWE 2K18 gameplay trailer can do so below:

Mötley Crüe is a good fit for the action unfolding on-screen, although it's unknown at this point if the song's inclusion was decided upon by The Rock, WWE 2K18's executive soundtrack producer. Regardless, the trailer does exactly what it set out to do through solid visuals and ample action, although the adrenaline-fuelled montage doesn't go too in-depth with some of the game's newer modes.

Also seemingly lacking is a better look at the Nintendo Switch version of WWE 2K18, which is sure to take a visual hit as a result of the platform being less powerful than its Sony and Microsoft counterparts. Only time will tell when 2K Sports will opt to show that more of that version, but this is a pretty solid look at what to expect in the meantime.

WWE 2K18 arrives for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 17, 2017. A Nintendo Switch release is set for this Fall.
