World of Warcraft players have been chasing the flail dream ever since Crusaders in Diablo 3 made the weapon popular, and Dragonflight will let them obtain a unique flail appearance to fulfill that fantasy in style. Artifact Weapons in Legion allowed Blizzard to explore alternative weapon types such as flails, offering them as options to Protection Paladins and Warriors. However, this still left classes such as Shaman and Monk wanting to join the fun, and prior to the release of the final patch of Shadowlands, they simply couldn't.

Dragonflight is building upon the flail weapons introduced in Zereth Mortis by offering players a more subtle model compared to the flashy Flail of Balletic Carnage. Given the leveling gear introduced in Dragonflight, the appearance perfectly fits the oft-requested niche of high-quality weapons and armor that favor substance and form over style. Furthermore, it references an iconic look that's been a staple of the franchise for two decades: the Gnoll Warden of Warcraft 3.

The Lore Codex, a World of Warcraft themed lore channel, shone the spotlight on the Gnoll Fiend Flail, a collectible treasure from Dragonflight that also doubles as a mace. It's made to resemble the famous Gnoll flails from Warcraft 3 creep camps, as well as the early Human leveling zones from World of Warcraft.

In a game flooded with extravagantly designed weapons that may sometimes be too flashy for their own good, it's surprisingly refreshing to have simple models in World of Warcraft again – and this flail certainly fits that criteria. The collectible treasure that awards players the Gnoll Fiend Flail can be found in the Azure Span, one of the largest zones ever made for World of Warcraft.

To obtain the treasure, World of Warcraft players need to find a Letter of Caution, looted from Disturbed Dirt or an Expedition Scout's Pack, which will lead them to a small cave in the Azure Span where the Gnoll Fiend Flail is located. Even if players find their way to the weapon without the Letter of Caution, the treasure will not be interactive without it.

One of the strongest specializations in Dragonflight are Windwalker Monks, and delving into the Vault of the Incarnates with two Gnoll flails is certainly one way to make a powerful statement. As Blizzard Entertainment concludes the expansion's first batch of class tuning and balance changes, Season 1 of Dragonflight is set to open on December 12th – promising another exciting race to World First just in time for the holidays.
