WoW Classic: What Are The Best Phase 1 Enchantments?

WoW Classic Onyxia

World of Warcraft Classic has been out for nearly a month now and players are starting to master the current content and getting ready to optimize their gear for the endgame. Some Classic guilds have already defeated Ragnaros and Onyxia, but there's always room for improvement. As the average players start to work towards the endgame dungeons and raiding content, it will be important to get the best enchantments and enhancements on every gear slot.

During Phase 1 of World of Warcraft Classic, the options for enchantments are fairly limited. Players are stuck with a smaller list of options until ZG and Naxx arrive (see the WoW Classic Roadmap), but that doesn't mean there aren't some exciting enhancements to track down and make or purchase. Considering this is WoW Classic, it shouldn't come as a surprise to hear that many of these options are going to require a serious grind on either materials or Gold.

RELATED: WoW Classic: Which DPS Is Best For Raiding?

One benefit of the smaller list of available enchantments is that is very easy for min maxers and metagamers to figure out what the best in slot enhancements are for every class. Obviously players should select whichever enchantments seem like the most fun to them, but Classic gamers who are looking to top the DPS or healing charts in dungeons or always hold aggro as a raiding tank may want to prioritize the options listed below as they enhance their during throughout the end of Phase 1 content.

Keep in mind that these recommendations are based on our experience and number crunching. Some Guilds or players may have alternative strategies or recommendations that provide a strong case for alternative enchantments. Check with your guild leaders before investing lots of Gold in enchantments to make sure your strategy is aligned with the rest of your party.

Best Weapon Enchants

Enchant Weapon - Crusader. This +100 Strength for 15 seconds buff is the easy best in slot choice for melee DPS and Tanks during Phase 1 of WoW Classic.

Enchant Weapon - Healing Power. This +55 Healing enchant is hard to beat for any of the healing classes.

Helm and Leg Arcanum

These are going to require some work. Make sure you know which one you want before heading out into Azeroth to do all the work it takes to acquire the correct Arcanum for your class and dungeon role.

Lesser Arcanum of Rumination grants 150 mana, making it good for Healing Druids.

Lesser Arcanum of Constitution grants 100 hit points and is good for Warrior Tanks and Paladin Tanks.

Lesser Arcanum of Voracity (+8 Intellect) is favored by most Caster DPS and Healers.

Lesser Arcanum of Voracity (+8 Agility) is favored by Leather and Mail Physical DPS.

Lesser Arcanum of Voracity (+8 Strength) is favored by Plate Physical DPS.

We hope you've been working on that Argent Dawn rep grind, because this one is essential. Chromatic Mantle of the Dawn provides +5 to all resistances and is well worth the rep grind, quest chain, and Gold required (if you're stuck, check out our guide to making Gold fast in WoW Classic).

Cloak enhancements actually have some great options. Depending on class, players will want to go with Lesser Agility (physical DPS), Greater Resistance (casters and healers), or Superior Defense (tanks).

Once again, this slot has a number of viable options that vary based on class or utility requirements. Players will likely be deciding between Superior Strength, Superior Stamina, Greater Intellect, or Superior Spirit.

Greater Strength, Greater Agility, and Riding Skill are the highlights for this slot. Since Strength and Agility won't do much for casters and healers, taking the riding skill bonus makes the most sense here.

For the boot slot, players will likely be going with Greater Agility or Minor Speed. Once again, Physical DPS may want to go for the Agility buff here, but it's honestly just a minor boost that most classes will opt for the Minor Speed increase instead.

All of these recommendations will change as soon as Phase 2 rolls out and a new batch if content is available for endgame players and PvP enthusiasts to start working through. Unfortunately, we still don't know the exact release date of each WoW Classic phase. More details should be arriving on that front in the coming months, so we'll continue to update our recommendations once addition content and items become available to players. For now, players have a ton to work on as they optimize their character for the current endgame content.
