World of Warcraft: Shadowlands introduces a lot of content, bringing players new locations and abilities, as well as adding Covenants, mounts, and other collectibles. Without a proper plan, it might be overwhelming to try and figure out what to do every week or every day when logging into World of Warcraft.

Players' first priority should be reaching the new level cap now that players' toons have been squished down to level 50. There is a lot going on in the new expansion, but a good portion of the weekly and daily content for Shadowlands will require players to either be level 60 or at least close to it.

Complete WoW Shadowlands Story, Hit Level 60

How to choose the best covenant based on spec and play style

While players don't have to try for world-record pace levelling in WoW, they should be putting in several hours a day in order to get there. There is a fairly linear progression through the Shadowlands, so players can start the expansion around level 50, circle through the four Covenant zones, and they should be about level 60 by the time they have finished the story.

Completing the story will also help players to choose their Covenant. Players will get to dabble with each Covenant's abilities and class-specific abilities, giving them a taste of what each can do for their toon. Depending on which tank, healing, or DPS spec players are, there is a best Covenant in Shadowlands, but they should also choose the Covenant that they like the most. Once reaching level 60 and choosing a Covenant, then next step is learning what the Daily and Weekly Challenges for WoW are.

WoW Shadowlands Daily Checklist

After completing the story, players will have a list of dailies that they can complete in order to get the most out of WoW. Players will want to complete these as often as possible to level up Renown with their chosen Covenant. Hitting top renown level with a Covenant will get players a Covenant hearthstone as well as Soulbind tree buffs and abilities. Every day, there will be several things that players can do.

  • Covenant Callings- Daily quests to level up Renown with a chosen Covenant, similar to World Quests.
  • Ve'nari's Maw Dailies - Do two daily quests for the Maw keeper and earn 75 Reputation and 140 Stygia for each.
  • Anima Explorer - If players switched Covenants are are looking to play catch up with renown, they can do these quests.
  • Random Heroic Dungeon - Earn 5 Wakening Essences for doing a random Heroic.
  • World Quest - Although Shadowlands has fewer World Quests, players can still grab 5 Wakening Essences from completing them.
  • Adventurer's Table - Previously called Missions, these are turn-based combats that can be done while players are offline or on the Mobile Companion App too.
  • Anima Conductor - After fixing then upgrading the Conductors in a Covenant's zone, players can donate Anima to their Covenant and get rewards in return.

WoW Shadowlands Weekly Checklist

While completing some of the dailies for World of Warcraft, players will most likely come across several of the weeklies too.

  • Ve'nari's Maw Weeklies- Do two weekly quests for the Maw keeper. Each weekly grants 850 Reputation and 420 Stygia.
  • Covenant Callings - Weekly quests to level Renown
  • Rescue Maw Souls - Quests to Rescue Lost Shadowlands souls and their Anima from the Jailer.
  • Anima Conductor - After fixing then upgrading the Conductors in a Covenant's zone, players can donate Anima to their Covenant and get rewards in return.
  • Pet Battle Events for Hunters
  • Oribos: 2 Weekly Dungeon Quests
  • Oribos: 2 Weekly PvP Quests

But there are also several other weeklies that players should complete also to make sure they top off their Renown and Soul Ash.

Torghast Weeklies

Complete two weekly wings of Torghast, the Rogue-like endgame dungeon in Shadowlands. This is one of only two sources for players to earn the material Soul Ash, which is used to create customizable Legendary Armor. There is a hard limit to the amount of Soul Ash a player can earn in one week, and players who want all the unique, customizable armor should make sure to grab as much of it as the game will allow.

Soul Ash Missions from the Adventurer's Table

world of warcraft: legendary armor

Every week, there will be at least one mission to earn Soul Ash from on the Adventurer's Table. Players will only be allowed to earn about 800 Soul Ash a week, and this is 100 of them. So make sure to do those weeklies and don't miss out on crafting customizable Legendary Armor sets.

WoW Special Checklist for Different Types of Players

Most World of Warcraft players focus on one of three things while playing: Mythic+, Raiding, or PvP. While some players like to do more than one of those, most just seem to have a favorite that they stick with, focusing most of their time and energy (and gold) into being the best they can be at one of those three subcategories. There are also weekly quests that each of these players can do, giving them extra benefits for their chosen path.

  • Raiding: Kill 1 Boss, Kill 3 Bosses, Kill 10 Bosses
  • Mythic+: Finish 1 Dungeon, Finish 4 Dungeons, Finish 10 Dungeons
  • PvP: Earn 125 Conquest points, Earn 350 Conquest points, Earn 875 Conquest points

By completing these, players will unlock up to nine potential rewards for each week. While players can only choose one of the nine, the rewards are worth the effort. Especially if a player already loves PvP, Raiding, or Mythic+ and would be doing these for themselves every week anyway. Each Covenant in Shadowlands can also help here, including covenants for healer specs, tanks, and DPS specs, making players better at gaining those rewards.

Killing Elites in WoW Shadowlans

While not a real Weekly Checklist item, killing elites in the Shadowlands have a ton of benefits. Players should aim to kill as many as possible to get some great loot. This includes some easy-to-get World of Warcraft mounts and unique purples. Elites can be found all over the Shadowlands map and can usually be soloed.

So if players are looking for something else to do in the Shadowlands after all of the weeklies and dailies are done, they should look to those elites. Also, there may be more or less to do if Blizzard makes any fixes for World of Warcraft in the near future.
