While exploring the House of Rituals in the Reagentry, World of Warcraft: Shadowlands players will likely come across a Runebound Coffer. As the name implies, this chest can't be opened without dispelling the runes that bind it. Unlike other locked chests in Shadowlands, there are three "keys" that must be sought out to get this one open.

Finding the runes is simple enough, though they can at times be well hidden. On the bright side, since they are always in the same location, players that are having trouble can simply follow the coordinates below to their locations. World of Warcraft: Shadowlands does make things a bit more difficult by way of a large number of enemies in the area, though.

For starters, the chest in question is found in the Reagentry, and its coordinates are 69.59, 33.55. While Maldraxxus is generally not a pleasant place to be, this chest is easier to unlock than others like the Bleakwood Chests in Dominance Keep that are surrounded by powerful enemies. The enemies in this area are relatively weak by comparison.

In order to find the three runes, players will need to search the house a bit, but they won't need to do any acrobatics like they would to get the Skyward Bell in Bastion. The first rune is located at coordinates 71.60, 33.01, and is arguably the trickiest of them all. This is because, rather than being out in plain sight, the rune is hidden underneath the carpet. Many players share stories of wasting a lot of time looking for this one even though it was right under their feet (literally), so be sure to check the carpet.

The other two runes are easier to find, though they aren't marked on players' maps. The second rune can be found at the coordinates 70.17, 31.33, and is sitting in plain sight. Likewise, the third rune's coordinates are 71.64, 35.24, and is also easy to spot after making it to this area. After finding each rune, players simply need to interact with them in order to deactivate the binding rune on the chest. Once all three have been deactivated, it's time to head back to the chest and open it to claim the rewards held within.

As mentioned, the enemies in this area aren't particulary powerful, but their great numbers can cause them to be annoying to even high level players and outright dangerous to some lower level players. There are also other Runebound chests located throughout Maldraxxus, the realm of the Necrolord Covenant, in the different houses, each with its own set of three runes that must be disabled before it can be opened.
