World of Warcraft players have been able to stay busy by defeating ancient raid bosses on the Classic servers or leveling up their Legendary Cloaks in the latest Battle for Azeroth content, but many fans are just eagerly awaiting the next bit of news about the upcoming Shadowlands expansion. According to the latest update from Blizzard, the wait may soon be over.

After dropping a big cinematic reveal trailer and some initial details about the next World of Warcraft expansion in 2019, news on the Shadowlands front has been pretty quiet. This isn't too surprising and follows Blizzard's usual reveal and promotion timeline for a WoW expansion pack. A lot of progress seems to have been made on the alpha servers and fans who really want to find nitty gritty details about the content can always look at report from those servers, but keep in mind details may change and spoilers could be revealed.

Luckily, there will be an official update in just a few few weeks from the game's executive producer and the WoW game director. John Hight will join Ion Hazzikostas for a livestream Shadowlands reveal event on June 9 to share some details about the newest content in development for the project. Hopefully the event will include a hint about the expansion's release date and confirm that Shadowlands is still on track for a 2020 release date.
