One of 2019's sleeper hits was World War Z, a co-op zombie game that attempted to fill the hole left by Valve's Left 4 Dead franchise. World War Z earned somewhat mixed reviews at the time of release, but still enjoyed strong sales and cultivated a dedicated following of players regardless. And now World War Z is getting a second lease on life, thanks to the upcoming Game of the Year Edition and the newly announced Nintendo Switch port.

World War Z: Game of the Year Edition will launch on May 5 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The PC version, which will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store, will retail for $44.99, whereas the console version of the game will be available for $49.99. It will include new weapon and character packs, along with new story content set in Marseille, France. Additional details on what that will entail exactly should be made available in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, the developers of World War Z have also confirmed that the game is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, a World War Z Switch port release date has yet to be announced, but Switch owners may be satisfied knowing that it's in development at all.
