News that 50 vs. 50 first-person shooter game Hell Let Loose is being released on next-gen consoles this 2021 only broke online during the first quarter this year. Now, the company has announced an official release date for the historical video game, likely enticing World War 2 fans who own a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S to finally jump into the fray this October.

Developed by game studio Black Matter, and published by Team17, the FPS title started out as a fully-funded Kickstarter campaign. In 2019, fans were finally able to experience the hectic gameplay when it was made available as one of the many titles on Steam’s Early Access. Hell Let Loose quickly gained online popularity, especially in platforms such as YouTube and Twitch, due to its unique take on an FPS. In the game, 50 players are pitted against 50 other players in order to gain control over a large battlefield. What’s more, the title relies heavily on efficient communication and leadership to bring the squadrons to victory.

On social media, the developers of Hell Let Loose recently announced its release date for next-gen platforms, stating that it will be available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on October 5, 2021. Given that the title was only fully released last July 2021, this gives PC players only a three-month headstart ahead of console gamers. However, since the development team noted that Hell Let Loose will only have the highly-coveted cross-platform play function available between PlayStation and Xbox on their Twitter post, PC players will likely have nothing to worry about the short timeframe between launches.

According to the Twitter post, Hell Let Loose will feature historically accurate maps and battlefields, especially those central to the Eastern and Western Fronts of World War 2. Players will also be able to choose between 14 roles, allowing for a diverse way of experiencing the game. Given that not much information has been shared besides the release date, the Hell Let Loose development team has taken to social media to answer fanbase inquiries. This includes verifying pre-order timeframes for the game, and network issues in the PC version.

With the release barely a month away, Hell Let Loose fans are likely looking forward to getting into the heat of the battle. For PS5 owners, an Open Beta will be made available from September 16-20, 2021. Xbox owners will have to wait for updates if a beta will also be made available for the platform. Otherwise, fans will just have to wait for launch day.

Hell Let Loose is available now on Steam with release date slated on October 5, 2021 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
