World of Warcraft has finally revealed an official replica of Frostmourne, the Lich King’s infamous blade, for pre-order. However, just as it cost Arthas his soul, taking up this incredible World of Warcraft collector’s piece comes at a steep price.

The Frostmourne Premium Replica and matching wall mount are currently available for pre-order on the Blizzard Gear Store, and are expected to ship February 2023. Frostmourne costs players $1,500, while the wall mount runs for $200, bringing the cost of both collector’s items to near $2,000 after taxes and shipping.

The World of Warcraft replicas themselves are of insane quality. The Frostmourne replica is just over four feet long, and weighs almost 17 pounds. Made of stainless steel, zinc-copper alloy, and real leather, the officially-licensed collector’s item comes with a certificate of authenticity. The blade itself is made with lost wax casting with engraving, milling finishing, and manual polishing. The wall mount is cast from metal and resin, and weighs about 7 pounds.

Considering Frostmourne has existed for over 20 years, it is no surprise that plenty of other Frostmourne replicas have been made by various companies and cosplayers. This premium replica is Blizzard’s first officially-licensed version of the dreadful runeblade. The official certification comes at a high price, however: the Frostmourne Premium Replica costs between two and four times more than off-brand versions.

That said, judging from the information known, the price is well worth the quality of the World of Warcraft replica. The blade is claimed to be 1:1 scale with the real deal, making it the most lore-accurate version players can get their hands on. The Frostmourne Premium Replica is a must-have for World of Warcraft collectors everywhere.

The Frostmourne Premium Replica pre-order has been released at the perfect time. Wrath of the Lich King Classic goes live in less than two hours from press time, allowing players to venture forth to the frozen continent of Northrend once more to take on the forces of the Lich King. Though players can’t get a version of Frostmourne themselves, they will be able to muster their strength by facing Kel’Thuzad, Malygos, and other raid bosses as they prepare to challenge the Lich King himself in Icecrown Citadel in a future update. There may be no better way to celebrate defeating the Undead Scourge and dethroning Arthas than mounting the Frostmourne Premium Replica on one’s wall after conquering Wrath of the Lich King Classic.
