World of Warcraft is currently gearing up for the release of its new expansion pack, Dragonflight–and there are few things that generate as much hype as a sale. Blizzard just began its 2022 Summer Sale on digital World of Warcraft products, which includes a cosmetics pack with a brand new mini pet.

The 2022 World of Warcraft Summer Sale began concurrently with the sale of Dragonflight pre-orders. Though the pre-orders themselves are not included in the sale, almost every other product on the digital store is.

The star of the World of Warcraft Summer Sale is the Midsummer Night’s Pack. In addition to the adorable new Lil’ Ursoc pet, the cosmetics pack includes nine other items added over the last couple of years, for a total of three pets, four mounts, two outfit transmogs, and a toy. The pack costs $65, down from the $180 of the original items, though the price automatically adjusts if a player already has items from the pack.

Many items on the World of Warcraft digital store are discounted from the sale as well. All digital editions of Shadowlands are half off, meaning new World of Warcraft players can get full access to the game for $20 right now. Likewise, the Dark Portal Pass and Deluxe Edition of Burning Crusade Classic are also 50% off. Most other cosmetics in the store are discounted up to 50% off, and many game services have a 30% discount. The sale is scheduled to last until July 4th.

The timing of this sale could not be better for World of Warcraft. With several sales and promotions advertising WoW Patch 9.2.5 and cross-faction play, many former players are curious about what World of Warcraft has to offer.

Some players have questions about the Lil’ Ursoc minion, however. While undeniably cute, the bear god Ursoc was permanently killed off during the Ardenweald Afterlives short before Shadowlands. The presence of this minion has led many to believe it was originally made for a cut sidequest where players might have been able to resurrect the fallen Wild God.

Nevertheless, World of Warcraft players have a lot to buzz about right now. With pre-orders now live, World of Warcraft announced its intention to ship Dragonflight before year's end. While many World of Warcraft fans are skeptical about whether it will be able to follow through with its plan, the pre-order Collector’s Edition rewards and the Summer Sale have certainly gotten people talking about WoW.

World of Warcraft is available on PC. Dragonflight plans to launch later this year.
