World of Warcraft just revealed the method to unlock the warden transmog set through the Trading Post, and players are not happy with it. While not particularly difficult to get, the new, highly-anticipated World of Warcraft cosmetic set takes a long time to unlock.

The release of World of Warcraft Patch 10.0.5 is imminent. The exciting patch adds the Trading Post, a new cosmetic-collecting activity that allows players to earn mounts, outfits, and more by earning a special currency through their monthly subscription and by completing specific tasks. Players have discovered tons of exciting cosmetics likely coming through the Trading Post in the future, including an outfit reminiscent of the Night Elf wardens of World of Warcraft fame.

However, a recent build of the World of Warcraft Public Test Realm just revealed how players can actually unlock the warden transmog set. Rather than purchasing the ensemble from the World of Warcraft Trading Post, players get it by earning the Trading Post Enthusiast achievement. Unlocking this achievement requires players to collect the free monthly currency from the Trading Post 12 times. Doing so unlocks the Burden of Unrelenting Justice ensemble, which presumably includes both coloration of the warden gear players datamined.

It is important to note players do not have to collect this reward consecutively – if they forget to check the trading post or let their subscriptions lapse for a month, their progress is not lost. That said, since WoW's Trading Post goes live in February, the most diligent players still must wait until February 2024 to unlock this transmog.

Players are understandably furious at this lengthy unlock process. World of Warcraft fans have wanted a warden transmog set for a long time, and are not happy that the unlock process takes a whole year. Many players would rather have the chance to do a more difficult grind to get the set sooner rather than a simple-but-lengthy time gate. When compared to World of Warcraft's popular and well-made Blood Elf Heritage Armor quest, Night Elf fans are angry this awesome set is so annoying to earn – and that characters of every race can use it, while Heritage armor is restricted.

With the new patch dropping soon, World of Warcraft is unlikely to change the requirements for earning this set, but it is technically possible. Likewise, the Burden of Unrelenting Justice may only unlock one of the two warden set coloration, leaving the other to be collected via another method, such as through a Heritage Armor quest. Either way, players interested in collecting this set should make sure to visit World of Warcraft's new Trading Post every month once it's available on February 1.
