Shaping Fate is a new 9.1 quest in Shadowlands. In order to initiate it, players will want to speak with Tal-Galan at Keeper's Respite. In this quest, people are tasked with thwarting the Jailer's efforts in Korthia by "completing Covenant Assaults, Daily Quests, looting rare treasures, slaying rare creatures, and defeating Tormentors of Torghast."

As the description suggests, doing just about anything in Korthia will help gamers get quest experience. Not only is the quest straightforward, but it will be effortless, as all of the objectives can be completed organically. Read on to learn all of the options gamers have when completing the objectives, as well as a few tips to get through the quest faster.

How To Complete Shaping Fate Quickly

Shadowlands Soul Cinders

Each of the options above reward a different percentage of progress. These percentages are reflected below:

  • Covenant Assault: 25%
  • Rare Mobs: 3-5%
  • Rare Treasure: 3%
  • Tormentors of Torghast: 5%

Based on the percentages, the Covenant Assault is by far the most rewarding event to participate in. With just four repetitions, players will complete the quest. Assaults offer useful items as well as a lot of progress in the quest, further making them the preferred choice among the four. However, the other events are worthwhile too.

Covenant Assaults

Korthia Mob Location

Assaults are a recurring feature in the Shadowlands updates, and this time around they are faction based. Each week, there are two different assaults, with each faction taking over when a new week begins. To complete these, characters will need to finish a series of quests that eventually ends in an "assault" on the Jailor. In total, it will take around 30 minutes from beginning to completion. This is an efficient way to get through the quest and reap rewards in the process.

To access Covenant Assaults, gamers will need to finish the quests that bring the main storyline to Korthia. Every Covenant Assault lasts three and a half days, and will appear on the map while active. On completion, Deaths Advance rep will be awarded, as well as reputation with whatever covenant is featured that week.

Players will be able to loot the War Chest after the assault. This drops Soul Cinders (which are needed to upgrade legendary items to levels 5 and 6 in 9.1), as well as other desirable items. Players will have the chance to secure 100 Soul Cinders by participating in the event twice per week.

Tormentors of Torghast

Korthia WOW Plains of Dominion

The revamped event allows characters to progress partway through the quest while picking up more Soul Cinders. Every two hours, the Tormentors event will start somewhere in the Maw. At the top of the hour, people can take a look at their map and see if they are in the area when the event goes live.

It will take slightly less time than the assault, but this quest only rewards 5% progress. Like the assault, Tormentor's of Torghast will guarantee 50 Soul Cinders if a party can survive the rare elites and defeat the tormentor. For that reason, it is another challenge every player should participate in each week.

Rare Mobs

There are a variety of reasons players will want to fight rare mobs in Korthia. Leveling up research reputation with the Archivist and Collecting Razorwing Eggs are two prime examples. As far as the Shaping Fate quest goes, they're not the the best option.

Those not concerned about finishing the quest immediately can fight a few rare mobs. Hopefully, they can acquire legendary gear and items in the process. Whenever a rare mob spawns, there will be a notification in the general chat, and the rare mob will appear on the map. Asking questions in general chat and LFG can aid in the process.

Rare Treasures

WOW Diviner's Rune Chits

This objective refers to looting rare chests and items across Korthia. Invasive Mawshrooms and Nests of Unusual Materials are world spawns that can be looted for quest items, as well as rares.

Using a combination of the four different tasks available will help people progress through the quest, acquire useful items, and stack currency for upgrades later in the patch. Check out the Diviner's Rune Chits guide for more information about the Invasive Mawshrooms and Nests of Unusual Materials.
