After months of waiting and speculation, it is finally time for the World of Warcraft Shadowlands pre-patch event to begin. The first pre-patch arrived a few weeks ago and brought the big level squish and introduced a ton of new character customization options available at the Barber Shop and during character creation. This week's update finally brings the Death's Rising storyline though.

The Shadowlands expansion was delayed from its original release date, but the new content is now scheduled to arrive on November 23 (or the 24 in some regions). With the Death's Rising storyline unlocking in today's patch, that means that players have two full weeks to experience the pre-patch event, grind the Argent Commendations currency and pick up some gear, pets, and toys before the real World of Warcraft Shadowlands experience is underway.

Death's Rising is a limited time event offers players tons of exclusive rewards and helps set the stage for the upcoming expansion by shifting the focus away from Battle for Azeroth's zones and NPCs and towards the narrative focus of the coming expansion. That means moving all the action to Icecrown for the time being as players take one step closer to moving on to the Shadowlands. There are daily activities to complete and even the chance to battle a well-known NPC with a weekly reset. The item level on that World Boss loot table has some players a little disappointed, but it should still provide an upgrade for players who speed leveled alts for the coming expansion.

The main draw to the event for the average player is going to be the Death's Rising questline. The quests span over two weeks of time and players have the chance to unlock some exciting rewards if they make it all the way to the end of the experience. Keep in mind that this is a limited time offering and players need to work through the questline between today and the launch of the expansion to take full advantage of the current event.

Weekly World Boss

Nathanos Blightcaller serves as a weekly World Boss, located just outside his family home in the Eastern Plaguelands. From the first week, both Alliance and Horde players can pick up the quest Nathanos Blightcaller, which rewards 5 Argent Commendation on completion.

There are a handful of other bosses and dailies that players can grind through to earn additional rewards and Argent Commendations, so be sure to fully explore the event area and engage with the new content as much as possible during the next two weeks. Be sure to check back in the coming weeks as more details about Shadowlands emerge. Until then, For the Horde!
