World of Warcraft is enjoying its 18th Anniversary this month, and one crafty player has decided to make use of its experience buff for some truly impressive speed-leveling. While the changes to Chromie Time by including Shadowlands will allow for more flexibility in leveling one's alt, many players are choosing to do so before the expansion launches on November 28. The reasons are simple, ranging from trying out new race and class combinations, to preparing for Dragonflight on their new main, but the opportunity remains the same.

From November 6 to November 15, World of Warcraft players will have the opportunity to level up their characters by benefiting from both the Winds of Wisdom and Anniversary buff to experience gain, with the total increase reaching 68%. Though the Anniversary event will last until November 27, the Winds of Wisdom buff is going away on November 15. If players add the 10% increase to experience gain from the Darkmoon Faire's carousel ride, they can get their alts up to speed in no time.

A World of Warcraft player managed to make the most out of these buffs to get their Lightforged Draenei Hunter named Terry to Level 50 in four hours and sixteen minutes, beating their own previous record. They shared the accomplishment on the World of Warcraft subreddit, where it was met with a mixture of praise and theory-crafting on how it could be done even faster.

One thing that players have a consensus on is that it's a lot more prudent to leave alts on Level 50 and wait for Chromie Time to allow them to level through the 51-60 bracket. Dragonflight is removing Threads of Fate, and will allow players to level in the expansion of their choice until they reach the Dragon Isles, allowing many to skip the currently unpopular Shadowlands zones.

It's important to mention that World of Warcraft players can't make an Evoker just yet, as the new class will unlock on November 15, when the Dragonflight pre-patch hits the live servers and the Winds of Wisdom buff runs out. Much like Demon Hunters in Legion, the Evoker will have two specializations for players to choose from, and will only be available to Dracthyr. In addition to the new class, players should also expect to see the first dungeon of Dragonflight unlock in the pre-patch – the new wing of Uldaman that sends them on a quest for Tyr's lost memories.

World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
