A new toy in World of Warcraft could hint at something big for the Draenei race in the near future. While this toy could come from any number of sources, many World of Warcraft players hope it could hint at a new story for the Draenei.World of Warcraft recently announced Patch 10.1.5, Fractures in Time. As the fourth of six planned updates for Dragonflight in 2023, Fractures in Time will add some exciting new features, including a time-bending mega-dungeon, Dragonriding races in Kalimdor, and access to the Warlock class on every race.RELATED: World of Warcraft Confirms Fan-Favorite Dragonflight Feature is StayingHowever, World of Warcraft fan Portergauge discovered a new toy in the Patch 10.1.5 Public Test Realm that might hint at something big coming for Draenei players. The Path of the Naaru is a new cosmetic hearthstone that is currently not available in game. Though it has no linked animation yet, it is clearly inspired by the celestial Naaru–the Light-infused beings strongly associated with the playable Draenei race. Given the connection, this toy could be a reward in an upcoming Heritage quest for the Draenei in World of Warcraft's future.

Recently, World of Warcraft has been giving Heritage quests a lot of attention. Dragonflight Patch 10.0.7 added Heritage quests for Orc and Human characters, and Patch 10.1 removed the reputation requirements to unlock all existing questlines. Right now, Draenei, Night Elves, Forsaken, Trolls, Pandaren, and the new Dracthyr race from Dragonflight are the only playable races without Heritage quests and armor, so it seems likely Blizzard will add them in the future.

If the Path of the Naaru toy is evidence of an upcoming Draenei Heritage questline, it would most likely arrive in Patch 10.1.7. Little is known about the patch besides the scant details World of Warcraft shared in its 2023 roadmap, but the “story & quests” bullet could easily include Heritage storylines. Even so, it is possible this Draenei-inspired toy could be made available through other means, such as through the in-game store or the Trading Post.

Either way, the potential for a Draenei Heritage questline has many World of Warcraft fans excited. Historically, Heritage questlines have been some of the best storylines, and their accompanying armor sets and cosmetics have been popular. Many fans are eagerly waiting for WoW to add Heritage quests for the last few classes, and any hints to their arrival are appreciated. Hopefully, World of Warcraft will confirm this rumored Heritage questline is real when it officially announces Patch 10.1.7 after Fractures in Time goes live in Dragonflight.

World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
