World of Warcraft: Dragonflight's pre-patch update has begun to roll out, and it has brought with it a host of new changes. Players have been enjoying the brand-new talent system and have created all sorts of new UIs over the last couple of weeks, but those are only a few of the sweeping changes that World of Warcraft: Dragonflight's pre-patch brought with it. There are many smaller quality-of-life features that may have gone unnoticed by the community, but they have gone a long way to improving many aspects of the MMO.

The biggest features of Dragonflight are the Dracthyr, the Dragon Isles, and the new talent system. However, that is not all that Blizzard has plans as the pre-patch also improved many of the rougher edges of the 18-year-old MMO. From bag improvements and talent builds to boat timers, there is so much more under the hood that has made players' time on Azeroth a lot better.

Bag Improvements

WoW Bags

One of the big complaints that World of Warcraft players have had over the years is the cumbersome inventory system. Players have had to manage five separate bags of varying sizes filled to the brim with random items and regents, and it has been pretty annoying to organize. Many players have chosen to download addons like Bagnon to manage their inventory in a more simplified way, but Blizzard has finally decided to change things.

Perhaps the biggest change to bags is the addition of a new bag slot specifically for regents. This goes along with the new professions update, and should give players more space to organize their inventories. Blizzard has also changed regent stacking to allow stacks of 1000 instead of the 200 that it was before. On top of that, World of Warcraft now gives players the ability to look at the inventory of every bag in one simplified screen instead of five individual ones, which makes add-ons like Bagnon feel unnecessary.

New Interaction Keys

A much smaller addition to World of Warcraft is the new Interact Key and Action Targeting. Action Targeting allow players to target anything that they are facing instead of right-clicking or hitting tab. The new Interact Key lets players simply face an NPC or an object and hit F to interact with them, and it can be freely bound to any key that the player wants. Both of these features make the game feel more modern and action oriented, and all players have to do is toggle it on in the settings.

Starter Talent Builds

World of Warcraft Dragonflight introduces a brand-new talent system to the game that brings back the old talent trees with a modern twist. It can be pretty jarring to go from the six tier talent system to the plethora of options that this new talent system offers, but Blizzard has made it easier for people. For those who want to jump right into the action, Blizzard has offered a set of starter builds that players can use. They just have to select the starter build from the bottom tab of the new talent tree, and the game will do the rest. It is a really nice addition for newer players, and alleviates a bit of stress that may come from this new talent system.

Boat Timers

Veteran World of Warcraft players know the feeling of missing a boat because they miscalculated how long it will take to get to the dock. WIth the amount of boats and airships that players have to use to get to new continents, this problem occurs way too often. Finally, Blizzard has added an official timer to the dockmasters so that players can see to the exact second how long it will take the boat to appear. This is currently only available for the boats to the Dragon Isles, but it will hopefully be applied to every boat so that players no longer misjudge how much time they have.

There are many more qualities of life features that have been added with the Dragonflight pre-patch, and this is only the beginning. In the next couple of weeks, the Dracthyr will become playable, and the pre-patch event will officially start. Then, the new expansion will roll out at the end of the month and will usher in the next chapter of the MMO for old and new fans alike.

World of Warcraft Dragonflight will be released on November 28 for PC.
