September 19 is international Talk Like A Pirate Day, and World of Warcraft is celebrating with some special, limited-time in-game events and items.

As part of the Talk Like A Pirate Day celebration in World of Warcraft, players can visit Booty Bay, which has been overrun by pirates, including the likes of Captain DeMeza. By dancing with Captain DeMeza, players can unlock a pirate costume and receive the quest "You're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat!" DeMeza will also sell World of Warcraft players a temporary pet in the form of Petey the parrot to complete the pirate look.

The You're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat quest will see players kill sharks to collect shark teeth for DeMeza's necklace in exchange for the Emergency Pirate Outfit. However, they will also have to face off against a powerful shark boss named Ol'Eary as well, which will definitely require a competent and cooperative group of players. Ol'Eary may not be quite as intimidating as the Whale Shark found in Vashj'ir, but he will still put up a decent fight.

Once players are done questing, they are encouraged to check out the beach just south of Booty Bay. Once there, they can purchase the Big Bag of Booty from Captain DeMeza for 300 coins, and they can also buy the Jolly Roger toy from Edward Techt for 10 coins.

World of Warcraft has been celebrating holidays with special in-game events basically since its inception, so it's no surprise to see players have access to exclusive content on International Talk Like A Pirate Day. This latest in-game event comes hot off the heels of Battle for Azeroth becoming the fastest-selling expansion in World of Warcraft's history, so it's safe to say that there will be millions of players participating in today's festivities.

In the future, World of Warcraft fans can expect the game to celebrate some other upcoming holidays as well, with special events going on for Halloween and the Christmas season. More details on those events and what exactly they will entail should come to light as they go live in the coming months.
