World of Warcraft: Shadowlands comes with many new items and additions, but not all of these can be obtained through regular money such as gold or silver. Players who have unlocked the Anima Conductor in the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands special Covenants will be introduced to a never-before-seen currency: Grateful Offering.

Unlike gold, Grateful Offering can only be paid to a Renown Vendor. They're used to buy Covenant-related weapons, armor, mounts, and pets. In addition, 35 Grateful Offerings can be used to purchase the Chronicle of Lost Memories, which is an item that teaches a Legendary power the player does not yet have.

Setting Up for Grateful Offering

world of warcraft shadowlands anima conductor

Before they can earn Grateful Offering, players need to first build an Anima Conductor in their Covenant. The Anima Conductor can be added by paying 1,000 Anima and 1 Redeemed Soul. The first campaign quest to upgrade the Covenant requires players to farm 1,000 Anima and 5 Redeemed Souls. If they wish, they can get the Anima Conductor immediately after these requirements.

For those that have spent their Anima on a different foundation, Anima can be gathered from doing quests, opening chests, or killing monsters. Redeemed Souls can be gathered from completing weekly WoW quests.

Getting Grateful Offering

The Anima Conductor gives players access to two activities, but only one can be enabled per day.

This is accomplished by players opening a stream of Anima from the Anima Conductor at the cost of 25 Anima. These streams open different parts of the Covenant homeworld and will cost another 25 Anime if the stream closes. Opening streams generate daily activities that include opening treasure or defeating enemy Champions or powerful foes to obtain Grateful Offering. Investing more in the Anima Conductor will unlock more activities.

The max total of Grateful Offering with one Anima stream is 3 Grateful Offering with some exceptions. Enemy Champions can only be looted once per day, but the player doesn't necessarily have to summon them. This means they can leech off someone else's summoning by camping in the Enemy Champions' spawn spots. The total Grateful Offering amassed a day can be 8 instead of 3 if the player manages to kill all Four Enemy Champions.

Spending and Prices

There are 2-3 vendors per zone that sell special items that can be bought with Grateful Offerings:

  • Bastion: Adjutant Galos, Forgelite Neptira
  • Maldraxxus: Su Zettai, Slayer Araya
  • Ardenweald: Elwyn, Mar'lan, Spindlenose
  • Revendreth: Chachi the Artiste, Gregor the Pallidblade

Items that can be bought with Grateful Offering will also require a second currency, which is Reservoir Anima. Those looking to buy WoW pets will need Grateful Offering and maybe a Polished Pet Charm instead of Anima.

The Chronicle of Lost Memories will not only require 35 Anima per copy, but players need to have four Anima streams, meaning the Anima Conductor needs to be upgraded to Tier 2. Players should be aware that the Chronicle of Lost Memories' skill is selected at random, meaning they do not have the option of choosing what to learn.

Adjutant Galos, Slayer Araya, Spindlenose, and Chachi the Artiste all sell the Chronicle of Lost Memories and are each part of the Covenant sanctum.

More Examples

Mounts can cost as much as 5,000 Anima + 5 Grateful Offering and Transmogs will require a specific Renown level depending on what the player wants to change. The earliest Transmog is at Renown 16 for Hand and Wrists, and Waist. Special pets Stemmins and Willowbreeze can be bought from Spindlenose if they're members of Night Fae. These will cost 250 Polished Pet Charms + 5 Grateful Offering each.

How the player spends their Grateful Offering is ultimately their own decision. If players wish to use this currency to Transmog/reskin their gear, then they can. However, it may not be a bad idea to stock up on Grateful Offering to purchase some of the rarer pets and mounts for their character.
