World of Warcraft is well known for its lore and iconic characters. Along with those legendary fantasy warriors and spellcasters come some very famous weapons. The franchise is famous for its unique weapon design and storied lore behind each item and fans have been creating replicas of the gear for over a decade now.

Cosplayers create lightweight replicas of everything from Thunderfury to Ashbringer, but they aren't the only ones reforging legendary items. One World of Warcraft fan with a talent for woodworking recently took to the table to bring Frostmourne to life.

The woodworker actually first crafted the sword two years ago, but wasn't quite happy enough with it. After a few more years of training they were ready to take another stab at the all wood replica. From the looks of it, that time in the shop seriously paid off...

The weapon looks beautiful and every detail seems to be captured. We can only imagine how satisfying it must feel to swing the heavy item around. No offense to the safe foam replicas we're used to...

Seeing this completed projects makes us really wish there were also high quality wooden weapons of all of our favorite video game items. How big of a tree would we need to put together a replica of something like Monster Hunter World's hunting horn?

World of Warcraft is available now on PC. Expect news regarding the Battle for Azeroth expansion’s release date in the weeks or months to come.
