World of Warcraft is once again adding to the library of books available for purchase about the lore, history, and development of the hit game. This time, players can take a deep dive into the lore of World of Warcraft's Kalimdor.

World of Warcraft just celebrated its 16th year. In that time, the world and lore of Azeroth has grown, giving Blizzard new locations and histories to explore in books and in-game. The last book dedicated to a location was all about The Eastern Kingdoms, and that book was released in November of last year. This new volume will focus on the other side of Azeroth: the Horde-run continent of Kalimdor.

The newest lore volume is called World of Warcraft: Exploring Azeroth: Kalimdor, and it will be available on October 15, 2021, according to the Amazon listing. Also according to Amazon, the book will retail for $25.00 USD for the hardcover. It is described as an in-depth exploration of the western continent, which has been part of the lore since the beginning of vanilla or classic WoW which was rereleased in September of 2019.

How to choose the best covenant based on spec and play style

The first Exploring volume was a winding history of the Eastern Kingdoms, and was written by the in-game characters Flynn Fairwind and Matthias Shaw. Presumably, the second volume will be narrated by a well-known character from World of Warcraft's Horde lore or even a famous night elf that remembers when their people had a stronghold on the continent. Either way, fans of the game can expect a lot of new material, artwork, and trivia in this new volume.

If World of Warcraft: Exploring Azeroth: Kalimdor is anything like its predecessor, it will deep-dive into the art, landscapes, lore, history, important people, and other fluffy tidbits for fans that may not know everything there is to know about Kalimdor. Hopefully, Blizzard will continue to expand on these books, adding perhaps some lore books for Shadowlands like Maldraxxus' lore.

The most recent World of Warcraft expansion Shadowlands is one of the fastest selling PC games of all time, and there have been some hints that WoW Classic will soon be opening up Burning Crusade servers. As the game continues to grow, so will the lore, history, and lands. It can be hard to pick up all that lore in the game, so books like these may be a boon to many fans looking for more about the world of Azeroth.
