It’s been a resurgent year for World of Warcraft after launching its sixth expansion pack in August of 2016. With BlizzCon 2017 on the horizon, many fans have been wondering what’s next for the long running MMO. It’s clear that Blizzard has something up their sleeves, as the latest BlizzCon trailer hints that WoW fans will likely have a lot to be excited for at its annual event this year.

In a new World of Warcraft video, game director Ion Hazzikostas recapped the past year for the hit franchise including the teams ideas behind the expansion Legion, and how the expansion has continued to shift and grow over the course of rest of the year. Hazzikostas then goes through each of the major patches, discussing how it not only evolved the game but how the fans took to them as well. The real tease however comes at the end of the video.

Without giving too much away before the big event next month, Hazzikostas confirms that the team has been hard at work creating what’s next for World of Warcraft. Even though Legion brought about a climactic battle and left fans wondering where things could go from there, the studio is planning to show fans what’s next for the game at BlizzCon. It’ll be interesting to see if the next expansion follows the recent datamined information which includes hints to the Old Gods and the island of Kul Tiras.

As an expansion, Legion was one of the most successful for World of Warcraft as it not only increased the level cap to 110, but it also added the Demon Hunter class and numerous new areas for players to explore. The expansion also herald in new events over the past few months as well including the highly anticipated Tomb of Sargeras raid as well as the Return to Karazhan patch which completely updated and expanded the dungeon instance.

World of Warcraft is available now on PC.
