World of Warcraft has clarified that weekly quests, activities, and lockouts won’t begin until after the first weekly reset following Dragonflight’s launch. This means World of Warcraft players won’t have to race to max level just to make sure they don’t miss out on endgame progression in Dragonflight.

Dragonflight is going live Monday, November 28 at 3 p.m. PST. World of Warcraft’s weekly reset–the time when weekly quests and unlocks refresh–is less than a day away from the new expansion’s launch for some regions. Players feared they might have less than 24 hours to power through Dragonflight’s zones and story to reach level 70, then knock out as many weekly tasks as they could before resets began on Tuesday around 7 a.m. PST.

Luckily, World of Warcraft has clarified weekly content won’t become available in Dragonflight until after the first weekly reset. Players do not need to fear missing out on an entire week of early progress and rewards from these weekly unlocks if they don’t hit max level in a few hours. They will have until the reset on December 6 to complete their first batch of weekly quests, giving them over a week to finish the story of Dragonflight and unlock the endgame content.

In a blog post, World of Warcraft revealed the list of weeklies affected by this change. These weeklies will be unavailable until the first Dragonflight weekly reset on Tuesday, November 29.

  • Mythic Dungeons
  • Epic Dragonbane Strongboxes from the Siege of Dragonbane Keep
  • All Grand Hunt Spoils
  • The “Community Feast,” “Aiding the Accord,” and “Show Yer Mettle” weekly quests
  • All weekly Valdrakken professions quests
  • PvP quests that reward honor

Many players are relieved they won’t feel pressured to complete all of this content in less than a day just to keep up. With about 16 hours between Dragonflight’s launch and the first weekly reset, players would have to grind exceptionally hard to beat the reset. Most are relieved to hear they won’t have to skip through Dragonflight just to keep up with progression.

Other players think World of Warcraft should delay these weeklies even further, however. While most players will undoubtedly be able to reach level cap within the first week of the expansion, delaying the unlock of weeklies until after the following reset on December 6 would eliminate even more pressure, giving players plenty of time to explore the Dragon Isles before getting to the endgame grind. Nevertheless, this delay is better than nothing, and players can rest easy knowing they won’t have to pull an all-nighter to power through their first round of Mythic dungeons in Dragonflight.

World of Warcraft is available now for PC. Dragonflight launches on November 28.
