World of Warcraft just put out a trailer showing off the Trading Post, a new monthly activity coming to the game soon. The short video breaks down how the Trading Post works, and showcases some of the items World of Warcraft players can collect when it goes live.

The Trading Post is a new feature in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight. While technically a part of Dragonflight Patch 10.0.5, the Trading Post itself unlocks on February 1. Once live, players can complete monthly challenges to earn Trader’s Tender, which is then used to buy special collectible cosmetics and items on a rotating schedule.

This trailer showed off some of the cosmetics players can look forward to collecting once the feature is available, as well as some of the tasks they can do to collect their full monthly quota. With dozens of challenges, World of Warcraft players can earn Trader’s Tender through a variety of means, from PvP, dungeons, and raids to pet battles, holiday events, and other cute activities. Additionally, players who complete enough of these tasks will earn a special reward each month, such as the Ash’adar, Harbinger of Dawn mount, a nightsaber who changes colors depending on the time of day.

One of the more interesting details from the trailer is that it showcases a dracthyr character wielding a bow. Right now, the new dracthyr race in Dragonflight can only be the new Evoker class, which can't wield bows, but hints in both files and lore suggest WoW may open the race up to other classes in the future. With Dragonflight Patch 10.0.7 bringing players back to the Forbidden Reach, many players wonder if this detail is a clue World of Warcraft is secretly planning on adding these options in the near future.

Nevertheless, players are excited to play around with the Trading Post once it comes out. The monthly activities seem like fun and charming goals to pass the time, and getting extra rewards just for playing the game is always a good thing. With tons of unique mounts, outfits, pets, and other collectibles, the Trading Post seems like a great addition to World of Warcraft.

That said, some players have some concerns about the Trading Post. Fans are worried they may suffer from FOMO if the Trading Post does not recycle items after they become unavailable at the end of each month. Additionally, World of Warcraft made unlocking the Warden transmog via the Trading Post extremely tedious, sparking outrange and disappointment in the playerbase. Hopefully, World of Warcraft will continue to work out the kinks in the new system after it goes live.

World of Warcraft is available now on PC.
