World of Warcraft’s new Dragonriding mechanic in Dragonflight is getting a new feature that is as useful as it is adorable. Players can now activate a buff on the Dragon Isles that allows other World of Warcraft players to fly with them in the form of an adorable baby dragon.

The Ride Along feature lets a World of Warcraft player in the same party hitch a ride with their friends as they soar across the Dragon Isles with the new Dragonriding mechanic in Dragonflight. However, instead of simply hopping on the saddle behind them, they transform into a dragon whelp and fly alongside the Dragonriding drake.

In order to activate this mechanic, the piloting player simply needs to speak with the Dragonriding Trainer in any of Dragonflight’s new zones. Once activated, party members will see an icon they can interact with that will enable them to turn into a whelpling and travel with their friend. The Ride Along passenger feature can be deactivated by speaking with the same NPCs.

At present, only a single player can use Ride Along at a time. It is also not known exactly how the color of the passenger whelp is determined. It may always be blue as in the preview, or it may change to match the color of the Dragonriding mount.

Unsurprisingly, players were elated to see the new Ride Along mechanic added to Dragonflight’s Dragonriding system. The new mode of flying has been one of the most well-received parts of the Dragonflight beta, and the ability to fly along with friends is something many were hoping would make it into the game. Being able to transform into a baby whelpling to do so is innovative and adorable. While some players hope they will be able to eventually bring multiple players with them at once, they are excited to soar the skies with their friends once World of Warcraft: Dragonflight releases.

The first phase of the World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Pre-Patch is nearly live. The major update will add the upcoming overhauls to the Talent Trees and UI featured in Dragonflight, with the Dracthyr Evokers and Pre-Patch event, Primal Storms, starting a few weeks later. In the time leading up to the exciting releases, World of Warcraft has been featuring several new mechanics coming to the game, such as its new targeting options. Players won’t have to wait long to give these new systems a try, and to see if Dragonflight can live up to the high expectations it has been given by its player base after the divisive reception of Shadowlands.

World of Warcraft is available now for PC. Dragonflight launches on November 28.
