World of Warcraft might have just leaked the title of Dragonflight Patch 10.1. This title was discovered in some files recently datamined from the World of Warcraft Public Test Realm for Patch 10.0.7.

Patch 10.0.7 will contain the first narrative chapter for Dragonflight after the expansion launch story and subsequent Vault of the Incarnates raid. Players will travel back to the Forbidden Reach and begin to uncover hints that will set them up for Patch 10.1. As the first major patch for Dragonflight, 10.1 will introduce a new zone, raid, and multiple narrative chapters.

However, players might have just discovered the title for Patch 10.1 ahead of time. In a recent build of the Patch 10.0.7 PTR, players found a string with the title “Embers of Neltharion” with the description “10.1 Narrative Campaign.”

“Embers of Neltharion” could just be the name of one part of the 10.1 narrative campaign, or possibly the name of the entire patch–players won’t know for sure until World of Warcraft formally announces the update. That said, considering the abundant hints that the new Dragonflight zone will take place underground as players hunt down the earth-based Primal Incarnate Iridikron, the foreboding title certainly fits the theme.

Neltharion, better known as Deathwing, is the fallen Aspect of the earth. If Patch 10.1 does take players to an underground zone, it stands to reason the legacy of the fallen Aspect would be involved. Deathwing’s shadow has loomed over every corner of the Dragon Isles so far, and with a title like “Embers of Neltharion,” it appears that will continue in the story of Dragonflight Patch 10.1 and beyond.

Many World of Warcraft players are intrigued by the newly-discovered title. Deathwing is one of the most popular villains in WoW’s history. While few players expect Neltharion to truly return in Dragonflight, many are excited to learn more about his past post-mortem. If the title “Embers of Neltharion" is any indication, players can safely assume they will learn more about the fallen Aspect, the Dracthyr, the Djaradin, and the Primalists in Dragonflight's next patch.

According to World of Warcraft's 2023 roadmap, Dragonflight Patch 10.0.7 is anticipated to arrive in spring, with Patch 10.1 coming no later than early summer. With this schedule in mind, fans can expect official confirmation on whether “Embers of Neltharion” is the upcoming patch title sometime over the next couple of months.
