There is a special mount World of Warcraft players can get that requires three rings dropped from certain Dragonflight dungeons. World of Warcraft players should be careful not to throw away these rings if they get gear upgrades or else they’ll miss out on a particularly adorable mount.

The Ivory Trader’s Ottuk is one of the several otter-themed mounts players can get in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight. In order to get this mount, players need to visit Tattukiaka of the Iskaara Tuskarr in Dragonflight and bring her three rings collected from various dungeons:

  • Thunderous Downburst ring from The Raging Tempest, the second boss of the Nokhud Offensive.
  • Unstable Arcane Loop from Leymoor, the first boss of the Azure Vault.
  • Platinum Star Band from Vexamus, the first boss of the Algeth’ar Academy.

These rings are dropped in the normal, Heroic, and Mythic versions of these Dragonflight dungeons, and can be of various item levels. The set can be from any difficulty, and each item doesn’t need to match in order to exchange them. Once players get all the rings, they can trade them with Tattukiaka for their new mount. Players should be careful, however–Tattukiaka will take equipped rings or higher item level versions of the rings if players have multiple, so be sure to store extras out of one’s inventory and have replacement accessories just in case. Should players reclaim the ring via the buyback feature, they will be of the lowest item level, regardless of what they were originally.

The Ivory Trader’s Ottuk isn’t the only mount players can get from Tattukiaka in exchange for accessories dropped from dungeons. If players can manage to get Terros’s Captive Core from Terros and the Eye of the Vengeful Hurricane from Dathea, Ascended, the second and fifth bosses in the Vault of the Incarnates Dragonflight raid respectively, they can get the Iskaara Trader’s Ottuk. As with the rings, these accessories are acquired from any difficulty.

Many players are thankful their fellow World of Warcraft fans let them know about this particular trick. The only indication these accessories can be used to buy mounts in Dragonflight is a tooltip mentioning the vendor’s name. Now that Dragonflight is a month old, some players might have already thrown away copies of these rings without realizing their value. There is hope for these players: World of Warcraft’s Item Restoration service may be able to reclaim these rings from the void so they can get their ottuk mount.
