World of Warcraft is adding an amazing new full transformation for Dragonriding drakes in Patch 10.1, Embers of Neltharion. This new rare cosmetic mount will drop from the Aberrus raid when World of Warcraft releases the new patch in the next couple of months.

Embers of Neltharion is the first major patch coming to World of Warcraft: Dragonflight. In addition to a new story campaign and the Zaralek Cavern zone, World of Warcraft is introducing Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible–the second raid of the Dragonflight expansion. This raid takes place in an ancient research facility once used by Neltharion and will pit players against twisted experiments, Djaradin elders, and even an echo of Neltharion himself.

With 10.1 now on the World of Warcraft Public Test Realm, players are finding some of the surprises in store for them with the new patch. One of these discoveries was the Elementium Drake–a full transformation for the Highland Drake Dragonriding mount from Dragonflight. The customization looks identical to Kazzara, the first boss of the Aberrus raid. Infused with shadowflame and clad in Elementium plates reminiscent of Deathwing, this armored dragon would be an amazing addition to any World of Warcraft player’s mount collection.

According to the customization menu, the Elementium Drake is unlocked through the Aberrus raid. It is currently unknown if the customization will drop from Kazzara herself, or from Sarkareth–the last boss of the raid–or what difficulties it will drop on. Considering the Storm-Eater customization dropped from Raszageth, the final boss of the Vault of the Incarnates raid from Dragonflight, on all difficulties, players can expect the Elementium Drake to do the same, even though the mount is themed after the first boss.

Players are understandably excited to get their hands on this new Dragonriding customization in World of Warcraft. While the breadth of customizations for these mounts is amazing, the few available full transformations have been on another level. These awesome cosmetics are fantastic ways to provide unique raid mounts while tying them into the new Dragonriding feature.

Dragonriding has been one of the best parts of the Dragonflight expansion. The physics-reliant flying system is incredibly reactive and fun. Players almost unanimously hope World of Warcraft carries the Dragonriding feature forward into future expansions and expands the system to include other mounts as well. Considering World of Warcraft’s third-era philosophy of focusing on evergreen features, it is possible players could see this new transportation system return in some fashion for future expansions.
